Chapter 2 - heart breaking sweet heart: part 2

Sarina's POV

Today was my day off. The space research center was closed for maintenance, and my junior scientist had promised me a surprise. I wondered what it could be. Maybe he had found some new evidence of aliens. That was my goal as a scientist: to discover extraterrestrial life.

I had some free time, so I decided to do something fun. Should I teach mia how to use the telescope? No, she would be in Ren's room by now. She had told me how her big brother always stayed in his room and didn't come down and play with her. Today, she was going to drag him out of his room. How sweet. My innocent, cute children.

Her smile lit up her face her look radiant and beautiful. She was a smart and successful woman, but also a devoted and caring mother.

I didn't know why my husband was so persistent. He was always pressuring Ren to learn software and coding. He even started teaching him how to build his personal AI. Why couldn't he let him enjoy his childhood? I thought to myself as I set up the telescope. Today, I was going to teach Mia how to use it

Few days ago.....

In front of the bungalow lay a vast green garden, its centerpiece adorned with a meticulously carved dragon fountain. Amidst this picturesque scene, a boy named Ren exclaimed, "Reto, catch this!" as he gleefully launched a ball towards a pristine white dog.

With an air of obedience, the dog promptly barked and dashed towards the ball, seizing it with precision.

For nearly three hours, Ren and his faithful companion engaged in spirited play. As Ren's amusement waned, a girl emerged from the shadows, her radiant visage akin to the sun. Silently, she approached, playfully covering Ren's eyes with her delicate hands.

Giggling innocently, she teased, "Hehe, guess who I am?"

As Ren surveyed the scene, he noted the exhaustion etched on Reto's features. "Phew, looks like we've played enough," he mused inwardly, gently patting his faithful companion. "You're such a good boy," he affirmed, feeling a surge of affection. "I'm bursting with energy," he chuckled happily, lifting Reto and twirling him around.

"We'll conquer the world together!"

However, Ren soon sensed Reto's discomfort with the spinning motion. "It seems you're not a fan of spinning around," he realized, lowering the dog gently to the ground.

Abruptly, hands enveloped his eyes from behind, their touch delicate and soft—undoubtedly belonging to his angel, Mia.

"Hehe, want to play a guessing game?" her playful voice teased.

As her words echoed in his ears, Ren played along, pretending to ponder her identity. "Are you my dad?" he quipped, slapping his forehead in mock realization.

Mia giggled in response, amused by his antics. "Hehe, big B doesn't recognize me," she chuckled affectionately.

He tenderly grasped her cheeks, noting their softness akin to a sponge and their rosy hue reminiscent of cherry blossoms, before giving them a gentle squeeze.

"Ouch! Hey, what are you doing?" Mia exclaimed, swatting away his hand from her cheeks.

In an instant, her mood transformed from bright and cheery to one of anger, her eyes glaring fiercely at Ren. Without hesitation, she kicked his foot and swiftly retreated into the house.

"Ouch, I must have really upset her," Ren lamented with a sigh, his footsteps heavy as he made his way towards the bungalow.

Ren pov

As I made my way towards the bungalow, the sound of painful barking reached my ears, unmistakably Reto, our only dog.

I remember finding him when I was just three years old, a frail puppy on the brink of death. It was a stormy day, intense rain pouring down, and someone had callously abandoned him near our compound.

Two years passed.

we resided in a six-story bungalow, and I particularly cherished the view from the top floor overlooking the city.Watching the city from up here makes me feel like a god, looking down on the mortal world below.

Turning back, what I witnessed froze me in place. My legs trembled, my hands shook, and tears welled up in my eyes. I was rendered speechless, only able to utter one word:

"Father, why did you-"

Someone laughed maniacally, "Ha ha ha ha ha ha..."

"I finally succeeded, ha ha ha ha..."

A man with black hair and eyes, wearing a lab coat like a scientist, stood in the dimly lit room. His expression resembled a starving, mad dog. He held a test tube containing shining purple liquid.

"I finally made it. All my years of research were worth it.

But there's a problem; I didn't test this.

Shit!"

He kicked the wall in frustration.

"Calm down, calm down. I can't act like this. Scientists should be fully calm and logical."

I walked towards the switchboard and pulled the switch upwards. Suddenly, the darkness in the room faded, revealing bright white light.

Chemicals, glass utensils, books, and computers filled the room. It was like the headquarters of an illegal organization.

Yes, it's an illegal organization that I created. This is my personal laboratory, and we have many hidden labs like this.

You're probably wondering what's going on here. Yes, you, the reader. I, Inova Inota, can see you while reading this. Anyway...

I am the founder of an organization called Ghost of Science. We conduct many illegal experiments, and, what can I say, I'm an evil scientist. Ha ha ha...

The experiment we're doing is creating a time machine or trying to access parallel dimensions. We're even researching a humanoid project. In this project, we're trying to create an artificial being that looks, talks, walks, and eats like a human. The only difference is they're advanced androids with feelings and their own will. But to my bad luck...

"Damn it, it's all his fault we lost our previous things."

Yes, I'm talking about my goody two-shoes best friend and partner in the project. I don't know what he did to that thing.

But I locked him in this lab's cell. Yes, I even built a cell. If some people oppose our experiments, we'll lock them here or kill them.
