It is the 4th of December, and Kenji has already passed nearly half of his first year in high school. He never anticipated meeting such interesting people at school. Perhaps Onodera High School wasn't as dull as he initially thought. As Kenji reflects on his experiences, he realizes the potential for excitement within the school's walls. One person who has made a significant impact on Kenji is Shinji, with whom he has formed a strong friendship. Kenji greatly admires Shinji's mental fortitude and is motivated to work harder on his path to becoming the future leader of his family. Similarly, Shinji recognizes Kenji's potential and eagerly anticipates witnessing his growth and development.
Kenji: "I failed the chemistry test. It was so difficult and embarrassing."
Shinji: "Haha! You really cracked me up with that one. You practically concocted a bomb! We were lucky things didn't go south."
Kenji: "Shut it. I may struggle with science, but it won't hinder my progress on this journey."
Shinji: "You might have a point there. But imagine how disappointed your old man would be if you can't even excel in school."
Kenji: "Sadly, you're probably right."
As Kenji and Shinji continue their conversation while leaving school, they overhear two other students discussing something intriguing.
Student 1: "Did you hear? The school director is being replaced tomorrow."
Student 2: "What? How do you know?"
Student 1: "The school is now fully funded by JuKyuu Enterprises. Watari-San, Masano Kurihashi's son and Tetsuya-kun's older brother, will be the new principal."
Student 2: "Tetsuya-kun's brother!"
Student 1: "Yeah, it's not good news. That guy is trouble. He's already causing issues for everyone. I dread to think what'll happen now that his brother runs the school."
Kenji has no prior knowledge of who oversees the school's affairs, but he decides it's best to steer clear of any potential problems, especially with someone like Tetsuya.
Shinji glances at Kenji and remarks, "You seem stressed."
Kenji responds, "Honestly, I don't even know anymore. This school never fails to surprise me. I just hope I can make it through to the end."
As they exit the school grounds, Shinji suggests Kenji wait in the central park while he grabs some sandwiches.
Unable to find an empty bench, Kenji hears commotion nearby and investigates. He spots four guys arguing with a sleeping individual on a bench.
Guy 1: "Hey, you! Our leader wants that bench. Find another spot!"
The sleeper, now identified as Kondo Minazaki, rises and introduces himself calmly amidst the confrontation. Despite Tetsuya's aggressive demeanor, Kondo maintains his composure.
Kenji realizes the situation's gravity as he recognizes Tetsuya.
Kenji: "Damn, it's him!"
Tetsuya, taken aback by Kondo's unexpected response, attempts to throw a punch, only to have it deflected by Kondo's skilled block.
Kondo: "I forgot to mention, I have some experience in martial arts. While I may not be exceptional, it's enough to handle myself. Tetsuya-san, I have no interest in being your adversary. I value my peace and will protect it at all costs. I hope you understand."
Speechless and intimidated, Tetsuya watches as Kondo walks away, leaving Kenji to recount the encounter to Shinji.
Shinji, too, feels the weight of the situation. With intriguing individuals like Kondo and the impending changes at school, their high school experience promises to be anything but ordinary.
