Chapter 13 - Delving Right Into It.

Malcolm looked at me again, and his eyes flashed again, noticing something else. I searched his white irises for any indication of what he saw. He didn't give me anything.

"Okay, so change of plans. Kyran here is in need of something I cannot make, that being his weapon. I'll need some of your blood and a little bit of some special metal. That is for your armor, which I can make. I think you can give me the last part." He said.

"Oh? Please elaborate." I responded, with raised eyebrows.

"There is something inside of you. A patch of space in your head that expands farther than my power can see. I can also feel the fact that it's not empty." He said, angling his head closer as if to peer deeper.

He was probably referring to my Reality. I decided to investigate, knowing that what he said had merit.

"So what?.. I just plop down and start meditating or something?"

"Whatever calls to you." Was the sage reply.

So I did just that. I sat down on the floor and called up the Grimoire. It flapped around and burst into flames with no rhyme or reason other than its own. It acted as if it was distinctly alive. An errant thought.

A thought that quickly consumed me.

I used a finger and touched the Page, scribbling letters into a coherent sentence, or rather a word.

[Hello?] I didn't expect it to work.

Which is why I was shell-shocked when [Took you long enough.] was burnt into existence on the Page, blackened lines emerging in an elegant script.

'So you are alive. I thought to it.'

[Yes.]

'How?'

[Think I know? All I know is that me and you are our closest allies, so try not to be a dick.]

'Fuck you.'

[Already failing.]

'So about what Malcolm said', I thought, conveniently changing the subject.

[He needs a material both extremely powerful and intrinsically connected to you. The former is going to take a while, but anything form your Reality would fulfill the latter. If you want to know, your Reality is the same size as the real one, has the same amount of Aether, has even more species, and worse horrors. It's fundamentally different in almost every way, and you can barely manifest a bucket of water.]

'Thanks for the warning.'

[I would like a Name as a reward. A True Name]

'What's the difference?'

[It's just better, okay?]

'Sure, sure. From now on, I name you Ves'khatharun, The Tome of The Monarch.'(This is the closest translation to the word in writable form, as it isn't really a word, that's weird I know, but that's the nature of the language.),

As I said the words, the world around me shifted and creaked for a second, space cracking and twisting, and time warping, a single second stretching into infinity and time going sideways and zigzag rather than forward. All from the sound of whatever words I had just spoken, which was quickly slipping from memory.

[What in the name of the Naraka Shore was that?]

'What in the name of the Naraka Shore was what?'

[You just named me in the language of the Primordials.]

I would struggle to think about the implications of that later. I had a bigger problem at hand.

I had almost zero clue on how to even enter my Reality, so I just went with my gut instinct. If I was to go about manifesting it, I would make a connection between the two, with me as an anchor, and then force mine into the place of the other. So to enter it, I would need to take the 'anchor', and take it through that connection and into my Reality.

Simple.

I did it, after about a hundred tries. The other members left to do some other things, except for Malcolm and Raven. The former because of curiosity, and the latter because she cared about me.

With the distinct sound of ripping, I did it. I was immediately assaulted by a feeling of both extreme cold and weightlessness.

I was in space.

Huh, that's weird. There's this giant, fleshy, bloody thing in this field of gnats with human faces and hands sprouting out of their wings, just floating in space.

I turned around and saw a planet's surface almost completely destroyed from what seemed to be a cataclysmic battle, the culprits just standing there, frozen. A massive icy skeleton with 20 heads, the extras bunching up around his neck and back, and a giant octopus. I realized that the gnats, which I instinctively knew should be buzzing about with fervor, were also still.

I could feel time around me, completely still and very unlike how it normally is, perpetually moving forward. I extended my sense outward, and noticed that time moved normally just outside my immediate perception. I was slightly annoyed by this, seeing as I would need to actually interact with stuff to get anything done.

After the thought appeared in my head, another one followed. This was my Reality, meaning that it was me, that caused this, consciously or not.

Good thing there were a lot of me's.

With that bastard Lost out of the way, I could finally do shit. I just stood there and noticed that time wasn't stopped anymore. That skeleton was putting the work on that stupid fucking sushi. The creepy bugs were sticking their dull teeth into the pile of flesh. Hungry assholes. I saw that outside my range that time was stopped there. That would give the philosophers something to rack their brains about.

The skeleton saw me and bowed. The sushi copied him. The bugs gave me a nod of their heads and went back to eating. At least they knew how amazing I was.

So we were looking for some strong metal? Alright.

I took off in the direction that said metal. After like an hour of flying and seeing even worse things I finally found what called to me. It was just a hunk of the black shiny material that pulsed with blue and gold like it was alive, and it shifted and twisted too. It should be really hard to get it out of here.

I just willed it to come to me and it did, a full ton of it. I held it and tried to leave. Then I felt something watching me. I turned to the feeling and saw an red and black armored man with a flaming sword in hand staring at me. I felt other things behind him but I could only see him. One of the other things made space crack and turn into a platform. He walked on that platform and stood right in front of me. He was huge. Like millions of kilometers tall. He had to exert effort to shrink down to just above a thousand. The sword was even longer, and didn't shrink. He knelt down in front of me and said some words in a language and voice that sounded like a volcano erupting or thunder booming. I realized that I could actually die here.

After he did his magic he disappeared. I did the same and was back in Reality. Lost was back and I decided to be nice this time and let him take control.

That was trippy.

I would think about that later, the important thing now was that Black got the metal. That interaction between him and that fire giant was also really interesting.

[More than interesting, it was a godsend.]

A Page appeared.

[New Spell Learned!

Sovereign Of The Elder Host

When Creation was no more than a side note in the mind of the Primordials, the only things to exist were Reverend and Insanity, and the Elder Host. The Elder Host was the collective name for the spirits that represented each aspect of existence not already claimed by the Flames. They contained the largest portion of Primordial power at that point, and still do, having gone into slumber as the multitudes of lesser beings started to appear. They awoke in your Reality, and have pledged their allegiance to you, sensing the True Names that you hold. Go on and conquer, Sovereign.

Allows you to both summon and transform into any one of the Elder Host. The more you understand them, the more of their power you can use.]

'Sweet'

[I know right? It doesn't end there though.]

[Due to your encounter with the Elder Host, you have gained deeper understanding of your nature as a Primordial. A Primordial is whatever they want to be, cannot be bound by anything, not if they don't want to. You and, only you can choose what you are, and even that is not set in stone.]

[What that means is that you can be whatever you want to be, AKA you can shapeshift, which is probably why Malcolm needed some metal from you.]

'I'll have to test that out later. But right now, I need to get the stuff to Malcolm.'

"Yo Malcolm! I'm back!" I shouted, a few seconds later I heard the cluttering of parts as he rushed in.

"You're back, nice. Ohh! That's a lot of metal...can it even be called that?"

"No clue, can I see the designs for the armor?"

"Sure."

He showed me the blueprints and my jaw dropped. His skill completely eclipsed mine, and I remembered that I needed to ask him something.

"So Malcolm, could I be your apprentice?"

"Hm? Oh yeah, sure.. whatever."

"Nice. Thanks Malcolm."

On that happy note, I left him with the hunk of what I called Voidsteel, and went upstairs and outside, not seeing anyone. I wanted to test out my new abilities, although I was skeptical as to if Elysium could handle it.

Eh well. Can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs.
