In a room that is pristine white, people wearing white and black-colored clothes are rushing here and there.
In the center of the room, there was a table which was engraved with a lot of weird symbols and there was a boy lying on that bed, unconscious.
The person near him had black hair, wore a white overcoat with the Roderick family's insignia on the chest and a blue shirt underneath it. His forehead was creased, and his eyebrows were frowning.
He opened his eyes and there was a visible frustration and helplessness in them. He sighed as he thought,
'It's going to be troublesome. He can't be saved anymore because his soul is already on the verge of collapsing.'
He then called the other people in the room and instructed them on the following procedures and left.
As he was leaving, the other people in the room started whispering to each other.
"Haa... I can't believe this happened."
"Yeah, The following days are going to be troublesome."
"Shut up and do your work, they will ask for the reports in a short while."
But, the black-haired healer ignored their mumbling and headed to his destination. As he was walking, he was also using some mind-related techniques to calm himself down. He's one of the best healers in the entirety of the human domain, yet he couldn't save them and now has to report this.
'I'm going to meet a person who is normally easy to talk to at the very wrong time. The report I would be submitting is not good, nor is the situation in the family. Sigh...'
He slowly walked towards a room at the second floor of that building. After arriving, he took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
"Come in, Victor."
He opened the door and walked in. Inside, there was a man with blonde hair about 30 odd years sitting on the sofa, now looking at him with a complicated expression. It's none other than Taylor, Jayce's grandfather.
"Sir Taylor, it's no use. They were brought here too late. Maybe if they brought about 10 minutes earlier, we could've had a chance."
Hearing that, Taylor became silent. He is contemplating how to handle this issue.
'For god's sake, how am I even going to handle this? Four envoys from a tier 1 family who came to our celebration, especially one of their talented children, are now gone too, inside our territory.'
'Without a doubt, it will fall on us for not providing enough safety. Those Shinto bastards!'
'Shinto' are a group of people or rather a cult that reveres the world as the sole god and despises those who think otherwise, especially the graded families who follow idiolism. They were termed as one of the most dangerous extremist groups by the human federation.
There are constant raids and surgical strikes on these kinds of organizations. But what to say? As long as people have differing opinions, these kinds of organizations keep spawning, replacing one another.
This attack was something they had been planning ever since the announcement of the celebration was made. Normally, this would've failed, but the sudden changes caught the Roderick family members and others off-guard, causing them to be negligent. Which ended up resulting in an error in their security for those envoys and the cult made use of it, dealing with a suicide attack.
"I understand, you've worked hard. Go and prepare the necessary reports."
"Yes, sir."
With that, Victor the healer left the room, leaving Taylor in a state of contemplation.
...
Roderick mansion.
Jayce laid on top of his bed, still in his own world. He couldn't come to terms with his feelings and thoughts.
But, right then there was a fluctuation in the air and his grandfather, Taylor, appeared out of thin air, causing Jayce to jolt awake from his daze.
"..."
"..."
Those two looked at each other for a while without saying anything.
"Come, I have something to show you."
Taylor broke the silence. Jayce opened and closed his mouth for a few times with no words coming out. But, soon, he spoke up,
"But grandm-"
"I know what she said. But, you don't have to follow each one of her words like you're some sort of puppet. Like, look at me. Do you know how many things she used to say about me back in the day? Do you think I followed all of th-"
*Cough Cough*
Before Taylor could even finish his words, a coughing sound interrupted him. Sure enough, it was Clara's.
Taylor flinched.
"Clara, since when did you become a snoopy of a woman?"
There was no response, as if Clara didn't even hear what he said.
"Don't worry, I just have to take him somewhere and bring him back soon."
"I know to where and for what you wish to take him. I can't allow you."
Clara's voice resounded throughout the room. She didn't use the mental conversation technique to convey this to him, since Taylor didn't use it earlier either.
"Why do you think I asked him not to leave the room until he made a decision? And why do you think I went through all that trouble to not let even his parents meet him till now?"
Clara questioned Taylor, which caused the latter to frown.
"I know you didn't want to let them influence him. But, whatever you think of him, he's still a child, and he needs further understanding before he can make a decision. So, sorry."
Just as he said that, Taylor waved his hand and let Jayce be covered in a layer which teleported him along with Taylor.
*Sigh*
As both of them disappeared, Clara just sighed in response. She could've stopped them if she wanted to, but she chose otherwise.
'He's right. I was so fixated on regarding him as 'special' that I refused to view him as just a child. Maybe this may help him get a better understanding and help in making his decision, or like I thought, maybe it would just result in a.... terrible outcome.'

Hope you all liked the chapter. If there are any issues, leave them in the comment box.
By the way, the name of the world Jayce living in is also called earth, the same name for Edward's planet too. So, I will keep the word earth reserved for Edward's planet and address the current world as I did in this chapter.
If you have liked the series so far, add it to your collection or if you find this good, just leave behind a review or use powerstones which help more people read this.
