Chapter 22 - More Truth

July 1994

Gringotts Wizarding Bank

Sharptooth picked up the conversation, "After your parents' demise and their will being sealed, Dumbledore again using his power as Chief Warlock took over the position of your magical guardian. And that way he gained access to your trust vaults."

"And how much money has Dumbledore taken out of my trust vault?" Asked Harry instantly.

"Mr. Potter even though Dumbledore has control over your trust vaults he cannot take out money indiscriminately. He must provide proper reasons for it. So he approved of 20 gold coins a months for your monthly expenditure which was discontinued after you joined Hogwarts. And 20 gold coins a month, I must say is more than enough to live like a king," informed Sharptooth.

Harry almost lost control at this. He had been living under stairs inside a cupboard and Dumbledore took 20 gold coins a month for his expenditure.

"And seeing your reaction and the condition you were in the last time you never lived a life worth 20 gold coins a month," commented Sharptooth.

Harry nodded in agreement but did not divulged any information.

Sharptooth continued, "Over the years aside from these monthly withdrawals, Dumbledore withdrew gold coins on your birthdays. There are also many 'sudden' expenses but since they were not too much considering your wealth and the fact that Dumbledore has the ministry in his pockets, we never brought up this to ministry or the Council as Dumbledore would have easily brushed up these expenses as reasonable."

He added, "For the last three years Dumbledore has made no more withdrawals. All the withdrawals except your first withdrawal have been made by Mrs. Molly Weasley. And that total amounts to 1400 gold coins."

He continued without waiting for Harry's reply, "And I assume you received very small portion of it."

Harry nodded in agreement.

Sharptooth said, "This is all from my side Mr. Potter. Now you can decide about what to do. But I must caution that since you yourself are not of age you have very limited control even on yourself. Though you can try to charge Molly and Dumbledore with theft, the charges will hardly hold. Firstly, because Dumbledore withdrew money as your magical guardian and Molly did so with your knowledge and probably with the permission of your magical guardian. It was your foolishness to allow Molly to do so. Secondly, Dumbledore have enough sway every where that you will laughed if you charge him with the theft few thousand gold coins."

He continued, "Though there are ways that allow Wizards not of age to take up Lordship, Dumbledore would never allow any of the ways to go through."

Harry could only nod.

Though Sharptooth was wrong about one thing and he did not correct the goblin immediately. Primitive families like Peverell had no age bound requirements to take the family Lordship. And the Wizarding Council could never change this law even with the full majority.

The wizarding council charter clearly stated that to change laws about the functioning of the primitive families, two-third majority of these primitive family was required.

And even to change the charter of thwe Wizarding Council, two-third majority of the primitive families was required and so, no matter how many times the Wizengamot was restructured, this particular clause could not be removed without the two-third majority of primitive families.

None of the books Harry had brought mentioned anything about the primitive families. Even families like Gryffindor were only known to be a Most Ancient and Most Noble families.

And since the seats of the primitive families had been empty for centuries, no one in general really knew the difference.

Though Harry was sure that such knowledge was deep secret and highly placed people who had in depth knowledge about the council and its working and its charter must be aware about that particular information.

And since Harry was already Lord Peverell, he would be considered to be of age for other requirements too. Sharptooth would soon learn this since he was going to take his position as Lord Potter now.

He himself was very well aware that no much how he wished he could not actually prove anything. Dumbledore was no old fool playing the game, he was a seasoned politician and a powerful wizard and the leader of the light. People feared him, awed at his achievements.

Harry stated, "For the time being I do not wish to take any action. If Molly Weasley comes again to withdraw the gold coins, can you inform her that her key is not working due to some technicalities? Ask her that only a new key can gain access to the vault and that can be made after confirming my identity. I do not want to know them that I have gained access to my family legacy."

Sharptooth contemplated, "Though we do not lie, I think since the key was yours and it was closed on your direction that can be called a technicality."

"Very well," said Harry.

"Mr. Sharptooth I want to do an inheritance test," requested Harry.

Sharptooth frowned, "Are you sure Mr. Potter? I doubt that you would inherit any other family. Maybe Black but not any other. Your father was eligible only for Potter Lordship and a far fetched claim on Black family; And your mother did not take an inheritance test, though since she was a muggle born, I doubt you would gain anything from her side. And even if you do, that would be of no use as you cannot take any Lordship till you are 17."

Harry nodded in affirmation, "I would like for the inheritance test."

Sharptooth smiled, "Very well. Follow me." With this he stood up and walked outside of the room.
