Chapter 1 - 1..

"We've been warned of meteorites, aliens coming back, even the horns of the end of the time …..but not this…"

That's what my grandfather said watching the sky explode that night, then fall like a torrential rain of fire from an apocalyptic movie.

I was busy playing games on my tablet this whole time; I got used to the explosions, and to my grandfather's endless rambles I barely understood... He wasn't expecting an answer from me anyway.

It was a festival. except, nobody was celebrating anything, and the bursts in the sky were anything but fireworks.

Daily In the news, they talk about satellites and wars, and we don't know anything else.

I don't completely understand what a satellite is or what they are fighting for, only afterwards, it rains electronic parts, and now, we are the ones fighting to get the most of them.

My uncle would often blame Westerners waging their wars on top of our heads, completely ignoring our insignificant existence, but my uncle was only an alcoholic failure; that's what my father said.

The last time blue eyed people came close to our village, they took our argan trees, our way of providing, and replaced it by buildings with unseen technologies, and told us we should come here to study rather than cultivate the land, and that was the way to achieve human greatness.

Seven years had passed since that. Now, we don't have Argan to provide for ourselves, and our teenagers who went to these buildings didn't learn how to cultivate the land, so they get their money from robberies, drugs, and dealing prohibited electronics. And we're poorer now…

…That doesn't look like human greatness.

My grandfather suddenly stood up taking me out of my thoughts. Then went despaired towards the mosque with small steps. The prayer call was still the only recognizable thing at his age, everynight it was calling:

-God is the greatest…..God is the greatest.
