Ray, Rhys, and Luna, growing impatient with Syn's lateness, decided to search for him. They left the bar and headed to the inn where Syn was supposed to be. Entering his room, they found it empty, with only a small magical creature present. It informed them that the owner of the room would not return for another week.
Rhys, feeling disappointed, left the room first, pondering how he would spend the week.
"Guess I'm going back to the bar," he muttered to himself as he exited.
Luna left second, feeling angry that Syn had promised to teach her how to properly use her power, only to disappear without a word.
Ray resigned himself to staying in the room. He spent the whole day conversing with the small creature, discovering that it possessed a soul, ego, and a mind of its own.
Night fell, and the room was empty except for the small creature, which observed the window intently. Meanwhile, atop the towering bell of the capital, known as the highest point in the city, two silhouettes stood, shrouded in darkness. Two silhouettes stood, shrouded in darkness, their presence barely discernible against the backdrop of the night. One pair of eyes shimmered like flowing water while the other glowed like twin suns.As the clouds parted, revealing the radiant moon, the obscured silhouettes gradually took on recognizable forms.
"What a surprise", one of them remarked.
"How could he just leave like that?" the other questioned.
"looking down on S-Ranks he really is something" resumed.
With a visible smile,
"Guess we're going to trouble him with our company."one of them remarked.
Vanishing from the top of the bell and reappearing at the city's edge, both figures donned cloaks and began to move, traversing through the forest, leaving behind only the fleeting glints of their eyes darting through the darkness.
Syn journeyed across the treacherous terrain of the Blue Moon Mountain, his mind consumed with thoughts of his next move. He had learned that the emperor had fled to a desolate town 300 kilometers away from the empire's reach. As he traversed the rugged landscape, questions gnawed at his mind, particularly about the method he had employed to cover such vast distances in less than a day. Lost in his contemplations, Syn was suddenly jolted back to reality by a voice piercing through the silence around him.
"Snow Sylvera," the girl beside him spoke up.
Syn raised an eyebrow. "Huh?"
"That's my name," she clarified, then turned the question on him. "Yours?"
"Syn Sindares," he answered.
Her gaze held a mix of uncertainty and hope as she asked,
"Are you serious about protecting me?"
As he prepared to respond, two swords hurtled toward them with incredible speed. Sensing the imminent danger, Syn swiftly wielded his trident, unleashing a devastating barrier that obliterated everything within a fifty-meter range in front of him, intercepting the swords in the process. He turned toward her, the tension in his muscles easing as he felt no more imminent danger.
"Why would I joke about something like that?" he asked
smiling, she steped closer to him as she felt safe, sudenlly picking her like a princess as he felt two figures rushing toward him, preparing to any possible attacks
"slow reaction" someone behind him said as he puts his hand on syn's shoulder.
Turning around, Syn caught sight of his friend Ray, but something was different
"yellow eyes ?" he questioned
"Not even close in rarity to yours," Ray replied with a smirk.
"Enough of chitchat," the second figure interjected from a nearby tree branch.
Turning around, Syn saw another familiar figure.
"Rhys?"
"Welcome, traitor," Rhys replied.
Before Syn could reply, Ray interjected, "I never thought you were into romantic stuff."
Syn, still carrying Snow, set her back on the ground and embarrassed questioned their presence. They explained that they were searching for him because Syn said before that they would find the culprit together.syn As he grasped their situation, Syn inquired about Luna's whereabouts.
hys ceased responding, summoning a scythe and reappearing with the emperor, grasping him firmly by the neck. Syn, astonished, questioned Rhys about his powers.
"Don't underestimate S-Ranks. Our badges aren't just for show. And not to mention, my rank is a triple S, meaning that I am equivalent to three S ranks. To be honest, I could go even further, but my rank is the highest that exists," Rhys replied, his ego clearly on the rise.
"Anyway, what should we do with this guy here?" Rhys resumed, referring to the emperor.
Syn approached him, questioning everything that had happened before. As the emperor began to talk about the Sindares kin, he felt a surge of pain in his heart. The emperor's skin began to turn purple, his head contorting into a monstrous shape, emanating a visible green aura.
"Duck," Rhys said calmly.
Hearing the word, Ray swiftly ducked, while Syn conjured a magical barrier. With a swift movement, Rhys beheaded the emperor, his scythe's slash reaching Syn's barrier and breaking through the first ten levels.
"Strong barrier you've got there," Rhys added jokingly.
"Only one level remains," Syn replied as he knocked on the barrier.
Reaching for the emperor's dead body, Syn sensed an aura flowing from its insides. He broke through the corpse and retrieved a cursed magical stone.Rhys, seeing it, requested Syn to hand it over for examination.syn accpeted his request and gave it to him. After examining the magic stone, Rhys informed Syn that its origin was the East Kingdom's Firewood Town. Syn didn't understand how Rhys knew this after only looking at it for a few minutes. Rhys explained that mana changes according to the space around it, and the mana in this stone closely resembled the unique form found in Firewood Town.
"one more request, go back to the capital."rhys said.
refusing, syn took snow by hand and started leaving.
"guess we're leaving the capital too"
"since when you became stuborn ?"syn asked.
"since the day you stubornly asked me to leave the bar."rhys smirked
sighted, syn accpeted rhys's coming that's when rhys vanished and reapered with luna on his shoulder.
"now we are completed"he said
"where was luna just now ?" syn questioned.
"capital, why ?"
"so you are using some kind of teleportation ?"
"exactly"rhys replied.
Syn requested that Rhys explain how teleportation works when they have free time. Rhys accepted the request, and Ray copied his cloak twice for the new members. Now, the organization consisted of Syn, Ray, Rhys, Luna, and Snow. As they ventured into the woods, the five members of Scarlet Serenity decided on their destination: Firewood Town in the East Kingdom.
As they moved through the forest, Syn pondered that not only the empire was involved in his kin's death but possibly the East Kingdom as well, or even more so.
"Five people versus the world, who would win?" the voice spoke, observing their journey.
