Chapter 68 - Chapter 68 Soft and Cute Su Nian

When Jing Mo stopped in front of the bedroom door, Su Nian simply walked up and opened the door herself.

"Come in quickly, or all the warmth will escape," Su Nian urged.

Jing Mo entered the room upon hearing this.

The last time Jing Mo visited Su Nian's bedroom was when he helped her carry the stove.

After some time, the changes in this bedroom were quite significant.

Back then, the room was chilly, filled with cool mats and silk bedding.

But now, everything was in warm tones.

The bedding on the bed, the blankets on the floor, were all fluffy.

Just looking at them made one feel cozy.

Su Nian took off her snow boots and put on knitted shoes, stepping directly onto the carpet.

Not hearing any movement behind her, Su Nian turned around and saw Jing Mo still standing in place.

Looking at the black leather boots on Jing Mo's feet, Su Nian instantly understood.

"Wait a moment!"

Saying so, Su Nian went to the other side of the bed and rummaged under the clothes rack.

Luckily, due to the current weather, the clothes were quite heavy and long.

Without getting close, one couldn't see what was inside the woven basket under the clothes rack.

After rummaging around for a while, Su Nian took out a pair of light grey men's cotton slippers.

"Try these on and see if they fit."

She bought them at a discounted men's clothing store when it was extremely hot.

Back then, it was just in case, thinking they might come in handy someday.

Never thought they would be used now.

But she didn't know if they would fit.

As Su Nian was thinking, she saw Jing Mo already bending down to take off his boots and putting on the slippers.

Jing Mo lightly tapped his feet on the ground, "They fit perfectly, thank you."

"As long as they fit. Come over and sit down quickly."

Jing Mo walked over and sat down next to Su Nian.

Fortunately, the cushion was long and large enough. Even with two people sitting, or three to five people, it wouldn't feel crowded.

After Jing Mo sat down, he took out things from the cloth bag.

A booklet and four large thermoses.

"To prevent the nutrient solution from freezing, it's stored in the thermoses," Jing Mo explained.

Su Nian nodded in understanding and earnestly began to read the booklet.

Seeing Su Nian engrossed in the booklet, Jing Mo's gaze fell on her.

Different from when they were out, Su Nian was now wearing fluffy pajamas, with two long rabbit ears on the hood.

Her features were delicate, like a doll.

With her short hair, she appeared even younger now.

After observing for a while, Jing Mo felt that there was one word to describe Su Nian — adorable.

The booklet was thin, only four pages in total, with most of it being illustrations. Su Nian quickly finished reading it.

As soon as she raised her head, Su Nian saw Jing Mo staring at her.

"What's wrong?" Su Nian asked, touching her face. "Is there something wrong with me? Why are you looking at me like that?"

Jing Mo came to his senses, smiled, and shook his head. "Nothing's wrong."

"That's good then."

Su Nian relaxed, her fair and slender fingers pointing at the booklet. Her plump and rosy nails looked very attractive.

"I've finished reading it. According to this, it seems quite simple to grow them. This is a cold-resistant new variety. As long as the temperature is above ten degrees, they can survive, and there aren't many pests. You just need to mix the nutrient solution in the right proportions and drip some into the water every once in a while. I want to give it a try. What about you?"

Jing Mo readily agreed, "I want to try too. Fried shredded potatoes taste good."

Su Nian nodded in agreement. "Grilled sweet potatoes are also delicious! And you can make sweet potato chips!"

After saying that, the two of them smiled at each other, seeming to have developed some understanding between them.

Hydroponics requires containers, and Su Nian had quite a few, but she didn't know if Jing Mo had any.

"Do you have any containers for hydroponics?"

"No."

"Then let me get some for you; I have quite a few."

Su Nian changed her shoes and left the bedroom, quickly entering the larger bedroom.

After closing the door, Su Nian took some logistics boxes out of her space.

The bottoms of these logistics boxes were completely sealed and wouldn't leak, making them perfect for hydroponics.

Su Nian carried a stack of logistics boxes back to the door of the small bedroom and knocked the door with the boxes. The door was opened from the inside.

Before Su Nian could speak, she felt a lightness in her hand as Jing Mo took the boxes.

Su Nian took out twelve logistics boxes, six for each of them.

For the first planting, Su Nian didn't plan to plant too much, three boxes of potatoes and three boxes of sweet potatoes.

"Before planting, we need to raise seedlings and wrap them with wood ash," Su Nian said.

Su Nian glanced at the stove; there was ash in it, but it was all from charcoal burning and definitely couldn't be used.

But there were some firewood they brought back yesterday stacked in the living room outside.

She brought a few pieces over, lit them in the stove, and then put them in an iron bucket to burn slowly.

Watching the wood burning in the iron bucket, Jing Mo stood up. "It seems like it won't burn out for a while. It's about time for lunch. Shall we go to my place and cook?"

Su Nian didn't refuse and let Jing Mo take the iron bucket and nutrient solution back first. She would change her clothes and go over later.

As she walked over, Su Nian also carried the six logistics boxes.

Opening her own front door, Su Nian found that Jing Mo hadn't closed the door at all. He walked in and placed the boxes in the living room.

Although there was an iron gate at the stairs, even if the living room door was open, no one else could come in. But leaving the front door open made Su Nian feel a bit uncomfortable. She walked over to close it.

Just as she was about to close the door, Su Nian saw someone standing outside the iron gate, tiptoeing and peering in this direction.

Apparently not expecting Su Nian to return, after meeting Su Nian's gaze, the person hesitated for a moment, then quickly turned around and hurried downstairs.

Watching the figure leaving, Su Nian narrowed her eyes.

Su Nian wouldn't claim to have a photographic memory, but she considered herself to have a good memory.

Although she could only see the person's eyes, Su Nian still recognized him. The person just now should be one of the young men living in the east unit on the first floor.

That household housed several young people, whom Su Nian had seen a few times when she went out, but they hadn't had much interaction.

"Why didn't he come in? Isn't it cold outside?"

Hearing Jing Mo's words, Su Nian closed the door and walked towards him.

After entering the house, Su Nian said, "I just saw someone standing outside the iron gate. It should be a young man living in the east unit on the first floor."

Jing Mo raised an eyebrow at this. "Someone living on the first floor came upstairs for what?"

Su Nian shook her head. "I don't know. I saw him, and he ran away."
