Chapter 18 - Upon entering the base, each person needs to submit ten pounds of food

In her hands, those millions could never be spent just by buying daily necessities.

Suni didn't want to waste, so she decided to buy two off-road vehicles.

The prerequisite was that the owner of the dealership could help her purchase two million worth of gasoline.

At that time, prices were soaring, and everyone was thinking of hoarding food; the automotive industry could be said to be in a state of neglect.

Suni was willing to buy two million worth of cars and so much gasoline, and the owner of the dealership readily agreed.

After all, with just one transaction, he could earn a lot from it.

Suni didn't care how much money he made from it; spending money on gasoline and having it stored in tanks was much better than a pile of useless banknotes.

Up until now, Suni still had hundreds of thousands of cash left.

Suni knew that there was no chance to spend this money again, but fortunately, it wasn't much, so it wasn't a big loss.

Suni drove the cars out of the underground parking lot, and the roar of the engines attracted the attention of the remaining survivors in the neighborhood.

Suni heard someone rushing out of their houses, someone cursing loudly, and someone running wildly behind her car.

But Suni didn't stop at all; she quickly drove out of the neighborhood.

These people had all had designs on Suni, but they couldn't match Suni's strength.

Suni and these people seemed to be at peace, but Suni knew that as soon as they had the chance, they would devour her alive.

Suni wasn't a saint; of course, she couldn't tell these people about the location of the base, let alone take them with her.

After leaving the neighborhood, Suni didn't stop either; she continued to drive at the fastest speed towards the highway.

The city now looked quiet, but beneath the quietness, there were undercurrents.

There were too many people hiding in the dark, ready to come out at any moment and deliver a fatal blow to others.

Suni didn't want to invite trouble; she just wanted to leave quickly.

Some people heard the sound of the car and rushed out, even blocking the road in an attempt to force Suni to stop.

But how could Suni stop?

Suni stepped on the gas, and when there were only a few meters left, the person blocking the road quickly moved aside.

To this, Suni just sneered.

The fear of death is human nature.

When she was about to leave the city, Suni noticed a van following behind her.

The van seemed somewhat familiar.

Suni furrowed her brows and thought for a moment, finally remembering that it seemed to be Tiger's van.

Didn't Tiger and his group die?

Could there be survivors?

And they were still secretly watching her?

Suni thought it was impossible and didn't delve into it further.

The performance and speed of the van couldn't compare to Suni's car at all.

After getting on the highway, Suni left the van far behind.

The route to the first base had been carefully studied by Suni while she was at home.

She had maps of the entire country, both electronic and paper, so she wasn't afraid of getting lost.

Suni kept her foot on the gas pedal all the way, rushing to the first base at the fastest speed.

Three hours later, Suni got off the highway and arrived at Rehe.

The first base was built in Rehe.

Rehe not only had many mountains but also many rivers.

Suni thought that was probably why the first base was established here.

The first base was also easy to find because it was built on the basis of the Rehe Summer Resort.

Suni had never been to the Rehe Summer Resort before, but with a map in hand, it wasn't difficult to find.

On the way to the Summer Resort, Suni found a place to stop and started taking things out of the space.

Cool mats, pillows, clothes and bedding, various toiletries.

Radios, solar panels, induction cookers and matching pots, electric kettles, rice cookers. Pots, pans, bowls, and other utensils were also taken out, filling half of the trunk.

Looking at the remaining space, Suni took out two bags of vacuum-packed rice, fifty kilograms each.

There were also some vacuum-packed dehydrated vegetables, noodles, mushrooms, seasonings.

Half a bottle of oil, half a can of salt.

She also took out some instant noodles and sausages.

In the passenger seat, Suni placed a large mountaineering bag, which was full of things.

When it was almost done, Suni stopped and continued driving towards the base.

When she saw the base from afar, Suni breathed a long sigh of relief.

After waiting for nearly a year, she finally arrived at the base!

Suni wasn't the only one heading to the base; there were cars in front and behind her.

As they gradually approached, Suni noticed that there were many cars outside the base, forming a long line, estimated to be over a kilometer long.

Just as Suni parked her car at the end, she heard some commotion behind her. Looking through the rearview mirror, she saw cars approaching from the distance.

It seemed that many people had received news about the base.

While waiting in line, Suni had been observing the base in front of her.

She didn't know what the Rehe Summer Resort looked like before, but all she could see now was a wall, an extremely high wall.

This wall extended endlessly to both sides, and it was impossible to tell how far it extended, but it was at least four or five meters high.

Not to mention anything else, just this wall gave people a sense of security.

Although the line of cars was long, the speed of progress was quite fast.

An hour later, it was Suni's turn.

"Hello, please show me your documents."

The staff member who approached was a young man with wheat-colored skin and handsome features.

Suni handed over her prepared ID card, household registration booklet, and graduation certificate.

After taking them, the staff member walked to a nearby table and handed them to another staff member sitting there.

A minute later, the staff member returned and handed Suni her original documents.

"To enter the base, each person needs to provide ten kilograms of grain."

Hearing this, Suni was not surprised at all.

In her previous life, when she went to various small bases, she had to pay an entry fee, let alone such a large base.

Suni opened the mountaineering bag on the passenger seat and took out a bag of vacuum-packed millet.

This bag happened to be ten kilograms.

The staff member took the millet and handed Suni a piece of paper and a booklet. "Continue driving in, and the parking lot is on the left."

Suni took the items and continued driving in. After turning left, she saw a huge parking lot.

The parking lot was not open-air; it had car sheds.

It seemed that thousands or even tens of thousands of cars were already parked inside, but only one-fifth of the spaces were occupied.

Under the sheds hung spotlights, probably all solar-powered. At this moment, each light emitted light, attracting a bunch of mosquitoes to gather underneath, looking black from a distance, which was quite disgusting.

Suni parked her car but didn't rush to get off. Instead, she opened the booklet.

The booklet was only a few pages long, with not much content on it.
