You hid in the undergrowth, watching as the earth dog was only a few meters away from you when the human child's tongue suddenly elongated. With fluid dexterity, the tongue coiled around the earth dog and began dragging it back, slowly pulling it bit by bit. The earth dog struggled at first, but you noticed that the surface of the zombie child's tongue was covered with backward-facing barbs, sharp like steel needles, which dismembered the earth dog on the spot!
As you watched the zombie child consume the bloodied dog flesh, bite by bite, you felt a wrenching in your stomach.
The zombie child quickly devoured the earth dog and turned to leave. You had just breathed a sigh of relief when you suddenly felt a twinge on your scalp, and instinctively ducked your head.
"Shush!" The blood-red tongue, covered with barbs, shot past your scalp like a harpooned fish spear. Had your reaction not been quick, that zombie child's tongue would have pierced through your skull.
