Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 God Tycoon Cultivation System_1

At eight o'clock in the morning, Li Changlin was awakened by the ring of his cellphone.

Groggily, he grabbed his phone and saw that it was a call from Yang Kun himself.

Suddenly, his head cleared right up.

Yang Kun was a leader at Li Changlin's company, the marketing director of the Wuxiang Legion, primarily responsible for the packaging and promotion of the livestream hosts under Wuxiang Legion, and Li Changlin was one such contracted small-time host.

"Director Yang, good morning, I am Li Changlin." Faced with a high-ranking company leader, especially one related to his own performance, Li Changlin dared not take it lightly and quickly sat up to answer the call.

"Li Changlin, your performance these days has been quite unsatisfactory!" On the other end, Yang Kun spoke in a very unfriendly tone.

Hearing this, Li Changlin couldn't help but feel a lump in his throat and began to speculate about the motive behind Yang Kun's call.

He chuckled awkwardly and couldn't help but say tentatively, "Director Yang, ever since I signed with the Legion, I've not received any recommendations from the Legion, you see..."

"Don't even think about recommendations." Yang Kun snorted heavily, cutting Li Changlin off coldly, "I've been keeping an eye on your livestream and I've noticed you don't have any distinguishing features in your show. The primary reason I called is to inform you that if you still fail to meet your targets this month, that salary of one thousand five hundred, the Legion won't pay you."

"This, this can't be!" Li Changlin was stunned, and it took him a long while to come back to his senses.

The terms were not like this when he signed the contract with Wuxiang Legion.

Not paying wages for failing to complete tasks was simply unreasonable!

Moreover, he also wanted to improve his performance, but without the Legion's recommendations, he was helpless.

However, Yang Kun clearly had no desire to listen to Li Changlin's explanations.

He had only called to notify him.

By the time Li Changlin came to his senses, Yang Kun had already hung up the call.

Li Changlin immediately called back, but Yang Kun had already blocked his number.

The phone kept emitting a busy signal, unable to get through no matter how much he tried.

"Damn it all!"

Li Changlin was so angry he almost went mad; he slammed his phone down on the bed, now wide awake and unable to sleep.

To be honest, Li Changlin was truly upset.

Wuxiang Legion was an entertainment company that grew on the Endless live broadcasting platform.

Initially, Li Changlin chose to sign with Wuxiang Legion mainly for the base salary of fifteen hundred plus commission.

Otherwise, there are so many live broadcasting companies online, why would Li Changlin choose the insignificant Wuxiang Legion!

Furthermore, Li Changlin believed he had some talent.

He had graduated from a music school, after all, and had a decent foundation in singing.

Even though Li Changlin didn't have his own songs, covering other people's songs was no problem at all.

But what he never expected was that not only did Wuxiang Legion fail to promote him, but now they were even looking to withhold the base salary that should have been paid to him.

This was simply taking things too far!

Were tasks so easy to accomplish?

The Endless live broadcasting platform didn't have just a few rooms; there must be at least several hundred, if not a thousand.

Out of so many live broadcasting rooms, how could any visitor see and find you if there were no recommendations?

This was clearly a trap!

A non-recommended live broadcast room hoping to become popular was simply a pipe dream.

Besides, Endless live broadcasting wasn't exactly a top-tier platform; it maybe had a few million registered members at best.

Thousands of live broadcasting rooms, a few million registered members.

No matter how you looked at it, it seemed highly improbable.

Those streamers who don't get recommended have a really tough time making a name for themselves.

Thinking about all this only made Li Changlin feel even more choked up inside.

Now, he didn't feel sleepy at all.

So, he got dressed and got out of bed, feeling depressed.

After washing up, he went downstairs to eat a bowl of rice noodle soup.

Angry as he was, he couldn't afford to joke around with his own health.

After all, health is the capital of revolution, isn't it?

After breakfast, Li Changlin returned to his tiny abode.

He picked up his phone from the bed, ready to call his good buddy, Ye Zhiwen.

He hadn't contacted Ye Zhiwen for a while, so now, since he couldn't sleep, it was a good time to meet up with him.

Unlocking the keypad, Li Changlin brought up Ye Zhiwen's number and was about to press the call button.

However, to his utter surprise, the phone suddenly began to flash violently, and the entire screen went dark, leaving him unable to see anything.

"Fuck!" Li Changlin was so mad he nearly lost his mind.

The phone was from one of the top domestic brands, and he had bought it less than ten days ago, spending a whole month's salary on it.

But now, it was already having problems.

Could it be because he had slammed it down in anger just before?

Li Changlin touched his nose, feeling frustrated, but then again, it didn't seem likely.

After all, when he smashed the phone, he had done it on the bed.

Even if the phone was fragile, it shouldn't have been damaged so easily.

Moreover, there were no signs of external damage on the phone, so could he have accidentally damaged the internal programming?

Buzz buzz buzz!

As Li Changlin thought about these issues, the phone suddenly started vibrating.

Then, waves of signal fluctuations appeared on the screen.

Li Changlin looked at his phone with a strange expression, feeling utterly bewildered.

He had never experienced anything like this before!

What on earth were these signal fluctuations?

They kept expanding outwards in circles, almost like a radar scanning for something.

"Beep beep beep, God Tycoon Cultivation System has detected a host, the host is in an excited mental state, suitable for bonding."

"Beep beep beep, God Tycoon Cultivation System is beginning to bond, bonding successful, the System presents fifty Points."

The voice came out of the blue, resounding in Li Changlin's mind, and left him utterly bewildered.

"God Tycoon Cultivation System?" Li Changlin muttered oddly.

"Host, did you call for me?" Suddenly, a sweet female voice responded in Li Changlin's mind.

"Damn!" The voice gave Li Changlin such a shock that he jumped.

He spun around, looking everywhere, trying to find the source of the voice.

"Host, are you looking for me?" The sweet voice spoke again, sounding so sugary it was almost cloying.

Li Changlin felt a lump in his heart and quickly shouted, "Who are you, where are you, why can't I see you?"

"I am the sprite of the Divine Tycoon Development System; you can call me Ling'er. First, I must congratulate you, host, on your fortunate acquisition of this APP software. With my assistance, the day when you become a godly tycoon isn't far off." The self-proclaimed sprite of the Divine Tycoon Development System sounded somewhat haughtily proud.
