At night, Lan Jin made a video call to Rong Lin; his brothers had been waiting all day and finally received the call. They gathered around the screen, excited and anxious to see their mother. They immediately noticed that she seemed much more haggard, a clear sign that she hadn't rested well.
"Goddess, are you hurt? Are you alright?" Rong Lin quickly asked with concern.
"I'm fine, I'm just a bit sleepy."
As soon as she finished speaking, Lan Jin yawned. She had been working day and night on developing an antiviral vaccine, hoping to contain the virus soon to prevent more deaths and global panic.
Unfortunately, they had not yet found an antibody, and without it, developing a vaccine was proving to be extremely difficult. It required repeated research, modification of processes, checking of results, and numerous trials—altogether a time-consuming effort.
