Forget it.
In light of her ability to make the old hag back down, Lu Jun decided not to pick too many bones with the woman.
The young man, with his back to the sunlight, had his slightly disheveled ink-black hair glazed in a beguiling layer of gold. His brows were lazily splayed, and the corners of his eyes held a tilt that mixed with a few traces of roguishness.
But Gu Danyu noticed there was a deep scratch on his cheek, extending to the corner of his mouth, as if scratched by a fingernail.
Withdrawing her gaze, she spoke softly, "Why did you hit that person?"
Her questioning was neither accusatory nor flustered with anger.
Lu Jun's clenched fingers relaxed slightly as he lifted his head, "It's just because I found her annoying, so I hit her."
"Why did you find her annoying?" The crisp female voice continued to ask, his face showing impatience, "Well, don't worry about it."
For a moment, the atmosphere became somewhat tense; the two stood deadlock in place.
Lu Jun was the first to yield, lifting his head, her deep and sharp gaze seeming to see right through him.
He dropped his head in disarray, muttering, "It was because that old hag suddenly went nuts and threw a blackboard eraser at me."
No sooner had he spoken than his head felt heavy, a warm sensation came through.
Gu Danyu rubbed the young man's fluffy hair, her voice cold, "Wait here for me."
Not until her slender figure had disappeared from view did Lu Jun snap back from his daze.
"Fuck!" he shook his hair, which seemed to still retain the woman's warmth.
After a pause, the young man glanced at the principal's office not far away: "I'm not like a little kid tattling to a parent... It's just, just that woman was too damn annoying."
Suddenly, a shrill roar from the old hag could be faintly heard from inside.
Lu Jun was startled, walking a few steps towards the principal's office before stopping himself, "I'm not worried about that woman."
Though he said this, his eyes kept drifting back to the door.
Having waited a little longer, just as the young man grew restless and was about to stride over, the door opened.
Step by step, the woman walked toward him, every movement exuding cool and noble grace, without a hair out of place.
Lu Jun stared at her for quite some time before he moved his lips, "You...." The words "are you alright?" had not yet left his mouth when he suddenly changed his tune, "Why are you so slow?"
Seeing the concern he could not quite conceal in his brows, Gu Wan curved her lips, "Let's go, we're going home."
Going home....
A touch moved his heart, and he followed beside her, sneakily peeking at the woman. Her stunning profile was slightly lifted, her long eyelashes casting a few shades of aloofness. Her skin was extremely pale, her lips curving into a shallow smile.
Completely different from the spoiled, capricious, ugly image rumored among the upper circles...
If that were the case, it seemed she might be more suitable for Big Brother...
Lu Jun wavered for a second but then immediately shook his head.
No, Big Brother is handsome and dashing, wise beyond compare; even a fairy wouldn't be worthy of him.
Back in the principal's office.
Wang Fang watched the two figures receding into the distance, a trace of venomous resentment flickering in her eyes as she clenched her teeth.
The threats from that woman still seemed to echo in her ears.
"The Lu Family doesn't seek trouble, but neither are we afraid of it. Teacher, I will go back and investigate the situation thoroughly. If it truly was his fault, we will apologize to you and give you a proper explanation."
She paused before her voice turned cold and stern, "But if it's your.... problem, the Lu Family will not tolerate it!"
Wang Fang spat in contempt and walked away.
What can a mere bug achieve? She had done nothing wrong; she would make Lu Jun and that woman regret this!
