The group quickly decided on a restaurant. Yu Ting stepped aside, picked up her phone and dialed Lu Nanchen's number.
He picked up after just two rings, seemingly free at the moment.
"What's up?" A cool, distinct male voice came from the other end of the phone. His voice was still fresh in her mind from the passionate whispers in the night.
"I'm going out to dinner with the folks from the theatre, so I might be home late." Yu Ting replied, updating him on the day's events.
There was silence on the other end of the conversation for a minute or two.
"Alright, I understand. Just come home early." Lu Nanchen thought for a moment - there really was nothing to worry about. He then remembered Yu Ting's drinking capacity, and added another sentence.
"Drink less."
After a brief chat, they hung up. Lu Nanchen returned his phone to the desk, and peace was restored to his spacious hotel room. Nanchen sat down at the table and reopened the teaching materials he had just closed.
