"I don't know how I would've lived with myself!" Rina was bawling her eyes out, making her face look worse, yet she still looked so beautiful while crying.
Vino didn't know what to say.
"I don't know how I am alive now. I feel so terrible. I almost killed you twice!" Rina kept crying.
"It's ok; no matter how many times you think you almost killed me, it was my fault. Stop blaming yourself."
Vino grabbed her face and wiped her tears away. He smiled at her and put his forehead against hers.
"If I ever die, I promise I will come back." Vino let her go and backed up. "See you, Rina!"
Rina reached out, but Vino had already taken off to his room.
'What did he mean by that?'
Vino got back to his room and splayed his body across his bed.
"Was that the good choice?" Vino was talking to himself out loud.
Frags remained silent. Vino looked out of the window and looked at the white stones that lined the academy grounds.
"What happened to all the blood and bodies that would've been out there?" Vino questioned.
He shook his head and sat down in the middle of his room floor.
"I'm going to train!" Vino got into a position to do a pushup.
"One...two...three..." Vino had already begun and decided he would keep going until failure.
***
"Are you tired yet?" Frags asked.
Tsk!
Vino was catching his breath. "That was a dumb... ass... question."
Frags began laughing, and he started playing in his hair. "Do you want the good news or the bad news?"
"..."
"Well... The good news is that you beat our old record by 10. The bad news is that doing regular pushups won't do anything for your body except tire you. Ive already pushed it to its limits. Sucks being born into such a weak body, huh?"
Vino slammed his hand. "You should've told me sooner."
"It would have been pointless. Seeing that you beat the record though, it looks like I didn't do enough physical training."
Vino snickered, "Even I know that as you grow up, you can get stronger. When did you give up?" Vino stood up and sat in the bed.
"I never gave up."
"..."
Vino looked around and saw the sword floating over his head. He poked it, and it began spinning around a bit.
"Can you see this, Frags?"
"I can, but it hurts to look at."
'Hmm.'
Vino grabbed the sword and brought it out of the void. He touched the sword and it felt real, but it would disappear when he let it go.
'Can I make it stay permanently?'
Vino looked closely at the sword and smiled. "This is a good sword, but it is still missing a few pieces."
Vino looked over a few chipped spots that didn't look natural, some spots being tiny holes directly through the metal.
"These aren't natural. Maybe it broke to pieces in the void and needs to be reassembled?"
Vino focused his eyes on the sword and let it go, so it would return to the void. As he suspected, the little black dots floating around were probably pieces to it.
Vino looked around and saw certain pieces shift when he touched the sword.
He looked at his hand and placed his palm on the pommel of the sword. The sword began disappearing into his body.
"That is handy as well," Vino smirked. He began focusing all of his will into the sword; it felt like nothing was happening.
Until Vino felt something bubbling in his head. The burning feeling spread throughout his body, and his blood vessels and nerves turned black, visible through his pale skin.
"I can feel it. Some type of energy." Vino broke into a cold sweat; a headache developed rather fast. His fingernails began turning black on his hand, and he felt the sword gravitating towards him.
The pommel of the sword entered his palm once again, but this time Vino felt a pulling sensation throughout his body. The shards of the sword around him began rotating at high speeds. Some shards cutting him
"It's pulling the shards in!" Vino's veins bulged out. A black color spread throughout.
Bump-Bump
His heart began pumping hard. His body began rejecting the black that was spreading throughout.
Cough! Cough!
Black splattered onto the sword, coming out of Vino's mouth.
'Is that blood?'
Vino decided to focus harder into the sword. The shards surrounding him were drawn in and began taking their places on the sword. Vino's eyes changed color from their blue, and they had a gradient from blue to a slight yellow.
His vision blurred for a bit before returning. The haziness around the swords and other void objects was lessened.
The sword he held in his hand changed, now being whole.
There was a veinlike pattern going along its sides, and it was pitch black along these veins.
Vino felt the pulling in his body stop, and his vessels returned to their normal color.
"Hah. That was painful." Vino listened for a response from Frags, but it was silent. Vino waited for some time before finally hearing something.
"Damn! My ability wasn't working! What are you doing?" Frags was holding the side of his head, and his eyes were shaking. This was something that didn't happen when he looked into his own future. Vino interfered with his ability without knowing it.
"I can't go back to living like that. I must know...the future." Frags yawned and collapsed on his bed.
Vino sighed and grabbed the sword by its handle, pulling it back into the real world. This time, Vino let go, and the sword remained, it fell onto the floor with a thud.
Vino looked closer, and the sword still kept a slight haze to it, but it was way more real this time.
"Now can I still return it?" Vino grabbed it. He put one hand on the handle and the other on the pommel. He focused and pushed the sword forward, and it returned to the void dimension.
Cough! Cough!
Blood came out of Vino's mouth, and he dropped to the ground.
His vision turned red, and his nose started bleeding.
"Vino whatever you were doing, you are getting backlash for it. Or maybe its the sickness kicking in." Frags had one eye open, Its bright blue focused hard on the future that was happening around vino.
"Vino...Your eyes!"
