Chereads / Cultivator Leveling Up In Apocalypse / Chapter 4 - Chapter 4. System?

Chapter 4 - Chapter 4. System?

Xian was suddenly jolted awake by a sharp pain in his head. As he looked around, he found himself in a familiar room, and the cold mechanical voice rang in his head once again, [Ding!] [Host has been successfully transferred to the blue planet!] [Warning! The blue planet will face an apocalypse in three days. Host is advised to be ready.]

Xian was overwhelmed by the flood of information in his mind. First, he realized he was back in his old world. Second, he had acquired a system! Lastly, the apocalypse???

Xian didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but one thing was certain: he was finally back!

First, Xian checked his phone and saw that it was April 25, 2024! It had been exactly one year since his transmigration.

He quickly ran downstairs and saw his brother, who now almost resembled an old man.

His brother had a beard growing out of his face, long black hair, and cans and bottles of beer littered around the house. His brother, Angelo Sebastian, heard a noise coming from the stairs and decided to investigate.

What he saw left him in shock; his brother, who had suddenly disappeared on his birthday, standing before him. Tears welled up in both of their eyes as they locked gazes.

"X-x-xian? Is it really you?" Angelo stammered, disbelief evident in his voice.

Xian ran up to his brother and enveloped him in a tight hug. After a few minutes of emotional reunion, Angelo took charge and began cleaning up the house a little. Then, the two brothers sat together on the couch, the weight of the past year's separation heavy in the air.

Angelo asked, his voice stuttering with a mix of worry and excitement, "What happened last year? W-where did you suddenly go? Are you alright?" Xian and his older brother, Angelo, had grown old together, relying on each other since their parents left them at an early age.

Angelo had stood as a father figure for the both of them. Xian explained everything that had happened, from the moment he transmigrated to another world to his last moments before waking up back in their world.

He held nothing back, telling his brother about the challenges he faced and the experiences he gained. The only detail he omitted was the information about acquiring a system upon his death.

Xian, being unaware of the nature and implications of the system, chose not to disclose its existence to his brother. He hesitated, uncertain whether revealing it would invoke restrictions or defy certain rules.

A few hours passed, and Xian retreated to his room, eager to delve into understanding his newly acquired system further.

Xian, being an avid novel enthusiast, decided to call out to his system aloud, curious to see if it would respond.

A blue light panel materialized before Xian, its glow illuminating the room as it awaited his next command.

[Ding! Welcome, host! The Supreme Cultivation System greets you!]

Xian attempted to inquire about his status by simply saying, "Status."

Xian noticed that his spirit stat was the highest, which didn't surprise him as he attributed it to his transmigration experience. However, he was taken aback by the presence of a shop and a lottery feature within the system.

[Shop]

Xian saw a lot of cultivation techniques that he had seen or heard of in his last life. And different sets of techniques such as: Breathing techniques, Movement techniques, Body techniques, Sword techniques, and many more.

Xian was overwhelmed by the multitude of techniques offered by the system. However, his mood turned solemn when he saw the prices attached to each technique.

He tried checking the sword techniques.

Now that Xian was aware of the prices for these powerful techniques from the system, he couldn't help but feel a sense of apprehension.

Curiosity piqued, Xian navigated to the lottery function of the system.

[Lottery]

[Ding! Congratulations, host for getting a one free spin in Lottery!]

Xian was taken aback by the sudden alert from the system, informing him that he had won a free chance to draw in the lottery. Excitement surged within him as he realized the unexpected opportunity that had presented itself.

He saw a set of Sword Techniques, Movement Techniques, Body Techniques, Weapons, And some pills.

Quickly seizing the moment, Xian eagerly accessed the lottery function once again. With a hopeful heart, he initiated the draw, watching with bated breath as the wheel spun before him.

As the wheel slowed to a halt, Xian's anticipation reached its peak. Then, with a triumphant chime, the result appeared before him, and Xian's eyes widened in astonishment.

He had won a Technique so amazing, that he did not believe it was real. The Transcendent technique, Starfall Stab!

He had won another valuable prize, further fueling his determination and ambition. Grateful for his luck, Xian couldn't help but marvel at the possibilities that lay ahead, knowing that with each victory in the lottery, his path to greatness became clearer and more attainable.

Now, Xian Had decided to check the quest function of the system.

[Quest]

Main quest: Get ready for the apocalypse that will be coming in 3 Days.

Reward: 500 coins, 1 Free chance to draw in the lottery.

Failure to meet the condition: Death.

As Xian saw both the reward and the potential punishment for failing the quest, he felt a mix of excitement and fear.

However, for his only brother, determination is his strongest fuel. He decided that he wants to save his brother from the apocalypse.

Xian closed the system and decided to check the book with "STARFALL STAB" written in bold letters, each stroke resembling a dragon poised to unleash and soar.

Xian was surprised to see that the Qi in the world was rapidly increasing with each passing minute.

He had considered making his brother a cultivator, but Angelo didn't have the spiritual roots eligible for practicing cultivation. However, Xian felt a different power flowing through Angelo's body. Xian speculated that it must have been what's called mana.

Xian immediately sat cross-legged on the floor in his room. He started reading through the Starfall Stab Technique. After a few minutes, Xian opened his eyes and felt a sense of déjà vu as he found himself once again not in his room, but in the galaxy, with stars and other celestial bodies floating through the infinite universe.

After a few minutes passed in a seemingly awkward standoff of other celestial bodies, a large meteor came hurtling down towards a star in the far distance, its size twice that of Earth.

The meteor, almost double the size of the star, rushed towards it in a downward motion at an unprecedented speed.

The collision of both was devastating to witness as the star was blown into smithereens. After the collision, Xian was jolted awake and sweating profusely. Despite his disheveled appearance, a sharp smile adorned Xian's face as he mumbled, "Meteoric impact."

Xian quickly rushed outside the house and ran toward an abandoned construction site a few kilometers away from their house. Despite running continuously, Xian was not tired at all due to his strong body.

Xian arrived at the abandoned site located in Makati City, which was adjacent to their own city, Pasay City.

Xian walked slowly, extending his senses, wary of the possibility that someone might be at the site. Fortunately, there was no one there except for small animals and insects.

He walked towards a large boulder twice his size and picked up a metal rod that was one meter long.

Recalling the meteor's trajectory, Xian likened it to a slashing motion. With eyes closed, he envisioned the sword's tip mimicking the meteor's path.

Upon contact, the sword and the boulder collided, causing the boulder to explode into smithereens. Similar to the star attempting to endure the meteor's impact, the boulder too shattered into small pieces of rock that scattered in all directions.

Xian was astonished by the power held within the Starfall Stab.

His astonishment was evident in the wide smile that stretched across his face, nearly occupying all of it.

"Damn! The Starfall Stab can produce that much power at Low novice mastery? How much more powerful would it be if it reached Perfection stage? But, before that... I better go now. The commotion may have attracted someone."

Xian sprinted at full speed toward their house.

Upon reaching their house, Xian calmed himself down from his excitement and proceeded to wash up. The dust and debris from destroying the boulder clung to him, exacerbated by his running.

After washing himself, Xian shifted his focus toward the impending apocalypse.
