Giselle Vila Rosa's point of view
─────────────────────────
"You have to take over, you're my heiress!" Papai yelled.
I rolled my eyes, annoyed, "Grandpa hates me, he'll never be okay with me taking over as matriarch. And you know what, papai? I don't want that burden either. I want to be left alone, leave out of this madness. I've had a hard time doing my all to stay away of the spotlight of this Imperial shitty clan, and you keep trying to push me under it. Why don't you push Isobel, Samuel, Camila, Gustavo, or Danilo under it? They are all your kids too, are they not?" I asked sourly.
He clenched his jaw, "They are bastards, Giselle, you're my heiress and my firstborn, and the only child that-"
I cut him, laughing dryly, and it was far from reaching my eyes. "I wasn't considered your child until you learned who mamma was, was I? I wasn't considered your child until your real true heir, your beloved Filipe died, was I? No. You only see me because mamma is a D'Angelo, because Filipe died to the rebels. Where were you when I most needed a pai by my side? Where were you when mamma was kidnapped and killed and I was left alone? Where were you then? Where were you when I awakened?"
"Stop being so fucking emotional, Giselle," he hissed disgusted and I glared daggers at him, but given the fact that I inherited my bad temper and guts from him, the bastard glared back at me. "You are different. You are a genius, talented, magically powerful, you are the strongest awakened in the past five generations, and you are the best for this. You will inherit-"
"I want nothing to do with your stupid job. I don't want to inherit this shit, yeah?" I yelled, losing my cool. "And emotional? Really? Did you really just had the guts to call me that? You fucking bastard. I'm literally the coldest bitch in this place because if I'm not, I lose control, and when I lose control bad shit happens to innocents around me. You are emotional, you are the one who doesn't think rationally, and you are only doing this to me now, because you are shitting on your pants out of fear, because grandpa is favoring tio Jaime over you, which means he'll automatically favor his firstborn son Miguel over me, your fake firstborn child."
"Don't you dare to bring that bastard over this conversation!"
I scoffed, "Why not? It's true, and no matter how you hide it behind that fake-ass poker face of yours, papai, it won't change the truth that we both know about. You fear that because tio Jaime is better than you, but I'm better than Miguel will ever be, and that's why you're using me, because in terms of IQ, magic, strategy, and overall power, I am, and I'll ever be, better than him, better than all of you. But that also won't change the fact that I'm not your firstborn, Filipe was, grandpa loved him, and he'll never accept me because he sees me as if you had picked me as Filipe's replacement."
Sighing, I passed both my hands over my hip-length curly black hair, "Which you have, and he knows it, everyone in the família knows it, we know it, even the goddamn walls know it, bloody hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the couch right there knows it too," I giggled self-deprecatingly. "You don't love or like me, Giselle D'Angelo Vila Rosa, papai. You love the power you imagine you will have if I take over as matriarch, because that's how egocentric and ambitious you are. You hate me because I'm better than Filipe was, because you loved him in a way you will never be able to love or even fake that you love me. And grandpa also knows that," that old man hates me since I met him when I was 10 years old.
"Gods, grandpa is so obvious about how he loathes me, that he even prefers your bastards over me, even after you married mamma and made me your heiress, official daughter, and all that shit. In fact, I wouldn't even be the slightest surprised if he picked a homeless bitch on the streets over me. And all because you threw me to the wolves as your heiress, three months after Filipe died, he felt disgusted, not solely about you, but for his beloved grandson. So, no," I stood up, "papai, I will not, in any circumstances, be the next matriarch, because I don't want to have a huge target on my back.'
"You can survive that much and-"
I scoffed, "Of course, I can. I just don't want the burden. I am not greedy for a life of danger, in which I'll have to constantly survive, and also always have eyes on the back of my neck, where I'll never be able to trust anybody. I just want a peaceful life. I didn't ask to be this smart or powerful, and if I could, I would hand all this strength to you, but I can't. So, do it like you did in my first 10 years of life, and pretend I'm not here. Oh, and again, I am not your oldest child by far, I'm the youngest, stop acting as if I were."
"Giselle!" There was a threat in his voice when I turned around.
"I'm still 22, Ricardo Vila Rosa," I looked at him over my shoulder, "I'm still attending the magical academy, and I'll still attend for more three years, I'm an ordinary person in here," with a snap of my fingers, I used my magic to put my short straight-haired blonde lace on, change my eyes from amethyst to boring brown, my skin from pale to tanned, my clothes from a tight gym outfit to a boring oversized pair of black hoodie with sweatpants, and add fake thick square golden corrective glasses on, "can you just leave me be and stop calling me in here?"
"You will regret this decision," he clenched his jaw. "But don't you worry, filha minha, when you do, I'll be here to help you take over your rightful place as my heiress. Jaime is nothing, he's my little brother, and I'm still the heir of the Vila Rosa."
"Yeah, yeah, sure, papai," I mocked and winked at him.
As I opened the sound-blocking door of his office, I made sure to put a slightly frightened expression on to make it look like I had just been scorned about something by the chairman of the Imperial Magical Academy and fool the dumb headmaster, Mr. Teodor Anghel, who have absolutely no idea of who I truly am. And as expected, the dumbass was waiting right in front of the office when I came out, and I pretended to be surprised.
"M-M-Mister An-Anghel," I played the shy-stuttering scared-cat, bowing softly, making him think I'm feeling exasperated.
"Ella Różowy," he glared down at me, feeling superior.
I'm far too used to these jerks by now. Oh, man, they would piss their pants if they had any idea of who I truly am. As tempting as that sounds, I do not want the trouble that would follow, or the fake niceties and the whole kiss-ass show they would all put up, not to be close to me, but to my família.
Hah… família my butt. None of them give a real shit.
"What kind of trouble have you gotten yourself in?" Alina Nechita, the headmaster's personal assistant sneered at me, also feeling superior. "To be called by the chairman at that. Are the rumors about you true?" There goes this bitch again.
You know, I always wanted to break her rhinoplasty-nose with my fist, she's one of the bitches who gets on my nerves the most. But well, I can't do that… I mean, I can, but I won't or papai would win, so, I just side-glared her, and went on my way, not even sparing her a word. I've been given more than one penalty for talking back to this bitch, I can't do that right now, when papai is right there.
I wouldn't be surprised if he kept her in this job to piss me off.
But as soon as I tried to run out of this hellish office, I end up hitting my body on a wall and falling down… not a wall, a man. The last man I should be getting close to. "You again?" Park Jin-Young hissed. "Obsessed with me much, four eyes?" He goes by Zeus though.
Arrogant much? Yes, he is. He is also the heir of the strongest clan who rivals my own, even if he doesn't know who I am. I've been warned about him, he's also the only person who is probably around my level of power, though he and everyone else thinks he's the strongest here. He sure act like the King of the Greek Gods, given how he reigns in this hell.
In fact, Hades would suit him more. I don't call him that because Hades is my favorite Greek God. This bastard doesn't deserve that. "I…" I played the clumsy dummy girl.
His monolid ice blue eyes near white glared at me, like a predator. He thinks he's a lion, but even lions get killed by snakes. To him, I'm one hiding in a disguising skin. I would actually enjoy killing him if I had the chance, this bitch has been getting on my nerves even more than anybody else in this world. "You can't even look in my eyes when you speak," he hissed annoyed. "You're a disgrace to the Academy."
"S-s-sorry," I said, looking down so he won't see my death glare.
But he grabbed my fake short blonde hair, that's very glued to my scalp with magic for as long as I want, and forced me to look up at him, and I felt my cheeks heating up because he may be a bastard, but he's hot as hell and he knows it. "You disgust me, four eyes."
Oh yeah? Guess what? You disgust me more, bitch. "S-sorry."
"You say that too much, four eyes, but I don't think you mean it!"
He's certainly smarter than I gave him credit for, because I do not. "I said sorry," I mumbled under my breath, staring up and meeting his eyes as he wanted, even though my neck hurt given how damn tall he is.
"And I said I don't believe it, four eyes," he hissed.
Usually, I would never talk back to him, because that would mean a load of trouble for myself, but papai got me so damn annoyed and out of patience, that for the first time since I've first encountered Park Jin-Young in here, I couldn't stay shut, "Is that the best you can do?" I scowled colder than ever, and he instantly frowned in dismay. "A 5th grader little nickname? You're getting uncreative for a bully, are you not, Park Jin-Young? You really think I'll be offended by that?"
"What did you just said?" He glared, grabbing my hair harder and I grinned like a wicked and sick bitch. "Are you acting up on me now?"
"Are you deaf?" I mumbled. "You're the sun for everything to go by around you, you do know that, right
"Leave the psycho four-eyes, don't waste your time with low born trash like her, Zeus," Viktor Zamolodchikov, his childhood best friend and the heir of the strongest clan in Russia, also on the top of the academy, came in, butting on something that has no relations with him as usual, because he is that inconvenient. "She doesn't even has family, imagine if she would have the basic education needed for a civilized talk with people like us."
"I'm surprised you even know the word civilized exists," I mocked.
"Have you lost it, little orphan?" He hissed at me. "How dare you talk back at me, what? Have you lost sense of where your place is?"
"Is there a problem?" Papai asked behind us, as Jin-Young quickly released his grasp on my hair, I just couldn't help rolling my eyes. "Is there a problem?" He asked again, sharper like a blade, his glare on Jin-Young.
"No, Mr. Vila Rosa," I spoke and he reluctantly turned to me. "It's just that I accidentally bumped into a wall, and then our paths crossed. There is nothing you should worry about."
"What four," he paused and I felt the burn of his eyes on me, "what Ella said, Chairman," Jin-Young said. "She's clumsy and hit the wall."
Oh? I'm surprised he even knows my name.
Well… codename, fake ID, if you may.
Papai's eyes traveled to Viktor, who flinched and avoided his eyes, probably because he's a terrible liar, then his eyes came back to me. "Are you sure nothing happened, Różowy?" He asked me, probably annoyed that I'm staying shut even though the person messing with me is the Park's heir.
"Yes, sir. Now, since you've excused me earlier, I… I have to go," I looked down, pretending to feel scared, then I avoided the three of them and ran out of there, straight to my dorm.
