Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Law Enforcement Team

"The range of mt five senses has increased to thirty meters, seemingly adding ten meters more than before, and my strength has also increased significantly. Just now running over, the speed has also increased."

Reflecting on the changes in his body, Lin Xiu turned and walked back.

Previously, there were Attribute Points, but unless needed for battle, he hadn't been adding to Constitution and Spirit.

After all, with the improvement in strength, Dou Qi would continuously strengthen the body and enhance Constitution.

Secondly, how strong one's combat power is depends more on the level of Qi Method and Dou Technique.

"Every ten points mark a milestone. When reached, a qualitative change will occur. I feel like I can still increase Constitution and Spirit."

Lin Xiu pondered for a moment, choosing not to add them for now. Since he had Attribute Points, he could add them when needed. It was just a matter of thought and didn't waste time.

Getting stronger in the face of battle can catch the enemy off guard.

"Brother Xiu, are there enemies?" Ahead, with flickering flames, Lin Dun chased over holding a torch.

"Nah, just two wolves being mischievous" Lin Xiu smiled.

Back at the camp, Lin Xiu took over the night watch from Lin Dun.

Having just made the breakthrough, Lin Xiu's Mental state was very good. With Dou Qi now able to operate on its own, he immediately began practicing Dou Techniques.

"The Qi Method operates automatically, which means I can gain 384 points of realm experience in a day now."

With a stick in hand, Lin Xiu squatted on the ground to calculate. After obtaining the number, he was amazed.

Taking his breakthrough to the level of a 6 Star Dou Practitioner as an example, he needed 500 points of experience, and he could promote in just over a day.

"It's a good thing I didn't allocate points to Spirit earlier, otherwise, with my cultivation speed, I'd be more terrifying than those using Blazing Sky Qi Refining Tower in the Inner Court."

Until dawn, Lin Xiu didn't encounter any lost wild beasts or Magic Beasts, a hint of regret flashing across his face.

Without Lin Xiu calling out, Lin Dun woke up on his own, quickly lighting the stove and preparing breakfast.

After eating, the two continued on their journey.

"Brother Xiu, aren't we supposed to be training? Why do I feel like you've been rushing all along?" After walking for a distance, Lin Dun took the opportunity during the break to voice his doubts.

The gap in strength between him and Lin Xiu was too wide, even though Lin Xiu had already taught him a footwork technique called Swift Wind Steps yesterday.

But it was still difficult for Lin Dun to keep up with Lin Xiu's speed. It took him most of the day just to grasp some basics, and he still couldn't use it flexibly.

"I've taken on a mission to obtain the stinger of the Red Bee Queen, and the Red Bees only leave their nest when the Winter Sunflowers are in bloom. The Winter Sunflowers are about to bloom in the next two days."

The news of the Winter Sunflowers blooming was reminded to Lin Xiu by his senior sister after he accepted the mission.

Hence, he also knew that time was pressing and planned to complete this task first before undertaking others.

"Brother Xiu, why don't you go ahead?" Afraid of delaying Lin Xiu, Lin Dun suggested proactively.

"No." Lin Xiu refused. Since he brought Lin Dun along, he was determined to ensure his safe return.

As Lin Dun was about to speak, he suddenly saw Lin Xiu raising his palm towards him.

"There's someone." Lin Xiu lowered his voice, preemptively drawing his longsword from the Spatial Ring.

'Why didn't I hear anything?' Lin Dun wondered.

Before long, Lin Dun indeed heard footsteps. He looked into Lin Xiu's eyes, filled with astonishment. 'Was Brother Xiu's perception always so much stronger than my own?'

"Big brother, we've encountered two students from Jia Nan Academy."

Soon, six figures emerged from the forest ahead. One of them, upon seeing Lin Xiu and Lin Dun, exclaimed in surprise.

These six individuals appeared somewhat disheveled, their clothes ragged with holes.

"You two, hand over anything valuable you have," the bald man said menacingly.

"No time for nonsense. It'll be troublesome if they catch up. Let's move quickly," another man in blue said, interrupting. Before he finished speaking, he lunged towards Lin Xiu.

With Dou Qi faintly emanating from his hands, the man in blue revealed a strong killing intent in his eyes, making no attempt to conceal it.

However...

In the next instant, a cold light flashed by.

Clang!

All they heard was the crisp humming sound as Lin Xiu's blade severed the head of the man in blue from his neck.

"Not good, they're not freshmen, run!"

Seeing this, the others chose to flee decisively. It seemed as though something terrifying was chasing them from behind. Any delay posed a danger.

"Check if he has anything useful on him, then let's leave immediately," Lin Xiu shook off the blood droplets from his sword and sheathed it.

Lin Dun seemed to be seeing a dead body for the first time, his hands trembling as he approached the corpse of the man in blue.

Standing nearby, Lin Xiu showed no intention of stepping forward to help.

Having witnessed several deaths back at the Lin Family Mine, he was unfazed by such sights.

"There are only some coins," Lin Dun said, holding up a bag as he approached Lin Xiu.

"If you feel like vomiting, I can wait for you," Lin Xiu took the bag and placed it into his Spatial Ring.

"No need, Brother Xiu, let's just leave," Lin Dun shook his head, his face somewhat pale.

The two continued toward the direction of the Winter Sunflower.

Not long after they left, a group of ten people emerged from the forest.

They were dressed uniformly with badges on their chests, unmistakably members of the Law Enforcement Team.

"One dead?" A young man walked up to the corpse of the man in blue, lowering his head to take a look.

"Was it someone from the Academy who did this?" another young man with short hair asked.

"It doesn't seem like it. Academy seniors should know that there's nothing valuable on these trashy people," the previous young man shook his head.

"So, does that mean we've encountered another group of outsiders?" the short-haired young man turned to the team members. "Wu Hao, you come with me. The rest of you follow the deputy captain."

"We split up and kill them all," the short-haired young man ordered.

The Jia Nan Academy Law Enforcement Team's task is to eliminate intruders near the Academy, most of whom are from the Black-Corner Region, considered trash.

They are often up to no good and their deaths are not mourned.

"Captain, what if it's done by Academy freshmen?" on the way, Wu Hao couldn't help but voice his doubts.

"Do you think everyone is like you? At this point, freshmen are basically still consolidating their foundation in the Academy. Even if they come out, they will be accompanied by seniors," the short-haired young man replied with a faint smile.

"Captain, in a couple of days, I'd like to take leave and return to the Academy," Wu Hao seized the opportunity to make his request.

"What's the matter?" the short-haired young man asked.

"I want to go back and teach someone a lesson," Wu Hao's mind flashed with Lin Xiu's face.

It's been over half a month, and that guy should have broken through to Dou Practitioner. If I fight him, it wouldn't be considered bullying.

"When did you make an enemy?" Surprise flickered in the short-haired young man's eyes. Since the end of the entrance exam, Wu Hao had joined the Law Enforcement Team.

"In the entrance exam, there was a guy named Lin Xiu who took my first place," Wu Hao instinctively clenched his fist. He believed that if he hadn't been careless at the time, he wouldn't have been pushed off the stage.

Then he wouldn't have lost his first place!

"Interesting. Approved, but don't waste too much time. Uncle Wu wants you in the Law Enforcement Team to focus on getting into the Inner Court, not to be distracted by insignificant people," the short-haired young man said.

The short-haired young man reminded, "Next year, I'll participate in the assessment. I expect to enter the Inner Court. During this time, I'll do my best to take care of you. Work hard and strive to take over my position as the captain."

"I understand."
