Chapter 31
His Personal Maid
"Did you see Mrs. O'Neil?" Ara asked Cattie as soon as she reached the kitchen. They were preparing dinner. "Over there," she pointed Mrs. O'Neil's direction. She was talking with Jonathan.
"Why are you looking for her anyway?" Cattie asked her before she could go. "Ah, the king wanted to talk with her," she answered. Cattie raised her eyebrow. "For what?" Ara shrugged her shoulder.
"Don't know," but she already had an idea. Is he going to talk to her about her becoming his personal maid, as he said a few minutes ago? Oh well, if she'll become his 'personal maid,' everyone will be curious about her. Why he chose her? Why her, nor them? Everyone will envy her, which is they shouldn't feel.
What if they knew that she'd be the king's mate? Will they kill her out of envy? And one more ting, his concubine will be mad at her, they will make her work hard, make her life hell which is already is.
