Spheris felt a shiver run down his spine. He stood silent, his entire body frozen, his mind refusing to think of anything that wasn't meaningless commotion. Even the hairs on the back of his neck were standing on end as he recognised the sinister voice of the Dark God.
Talon could sense the change in atmosphere, he could sense the darkness clouding Spheris's mind, and so he leaped off his shoulder, feathers ruffling with unease.
"You're... back," Spheris mumbled, his pupils dilating in direness.
Responding to him, like a whisper carried on the wind, the voice of Obsidian pierced Spheris's mind. 'When did I ever leave? I've always been here, my dear Temple. Have you forgotten? Front row seat.'
Spheris's frown deepened. This meant that everything he had done ever since he left Endswatch — even after being tricked back in Falling Grass — was being watched by Obsidian.
