The team's collective breath caught in their throats as they gawked at the terrifying scenery. The massive predators were some distance away from the frozen river, right on the foot of one of the crystalline mountains.
If Spheris hadn't pointed directly at them, they all probably would never have seen them. Their sharp, white fur blended seamlessly with the icy landscape.
"What are they doing?" Thorin asked, squinting his eyes.
"They're eating something," Nero answered foursquare.
"Eating?"
"Gods, that's a large carcass," Cerene pointed out. "What could be that massive?"
"Gorgolith," Spheris said. "They're feasting on a Gorgolith."
Nero placed a palm above his eyes then nodded. "He's right."
Thorin heaved a deep breath. "That's not good."
"What would a Gorgolith be doing all the way over here?" Cerene asked concernedly.
"Calamities," Akemi chimed in. "It's... close."
