I had anticipated a few people coming, but I never imagined there would be so many at once. My initial plan involved intermittent attacks, allowing us to deal with small groups over time. However, with everyone converging simultaneously, I found myself momentarily lost on how to react.
"How many exactly are we facing?" Ellen asked beside me, with visible concern on her face.
I hesitated, unsure whether I should tell her the truth or not. But ultimately, she would grasp the severity of our situation regardless of what I said. Considering this, I decided it was better to be honest and prepare her for what was to come, rather than hide the truth and risk regretting it later. With these thoughts in mind, I bit my lip and responded.
"There are probably about 170 of them, maybe even more" I replied solemnly.
