I regained consciousness a few seconds after hearing Ellen call me. Slowly, I lifted my gaze. Ellen, Noelle, Ilya, Eleanor, and Henry were watching me with strange expressions, but I couldn't bring myself to care about that. My hands slowly moved toward my face.
I lightly touched my face at every part I could reach, but a question popped into my mind: what kind of expression was I making at that very moment? I definitely wasn't smiling, but I didn't feel sad either. Either way, I felt a sense of relief as I realized my face was normal.
I mean, just seconds ago, my head had exploded upon hitting the ground. The worst part was that now that I was alive again, I could remember every detail, including the pain. Even though it was only for a brief moment, I still vividly recalled the sensation of my head cracking.
