As for what these Crystal Cores actually are, they still don't know, only that they're one of the trump cards Zijin Base has prepared for hunting Level 3 zombies.
During their interactions, Nie Siyan, some even suggested that perhaps they should put on a few staged fights tomorrow to give off the illusion that they're all very strong, to boost their impression in front of Zijin Base.
