The centipede menacingly crawled toward the faint Huang Xu.
Seeing Huang Xu in imminent danger,
Yibai sighed inwardly, deciding to intervene and save Huang Xu. He revealed his true form, his colossal serpent body blocking the path of the centipede.
The pure, ink-like Monster Qi on his body flickered unceasingly.
"Dragon spawn, why do you obstruct my path?"
The centipede glared at Yibai, as its body transformed, growing to a length of several meters.
"Heavenly Dragon, this person also unintentionally intruded on the banquet; it was all a misunderstanding. When the blinding Monster Qi dispersed earlier, he didn't mean to see the Heavenly Dragon's true form and, out of panic, spoke out of turn. Why not spare him and let him live? I will ensure he builds a temple to worship you."
Yibai persuaded patiently.
If it weren't necessary, he truly did not want to take action.
He, wasn't sure of his chances.
"Build a temple to worship? Why do I need such worship? Can building temples add years to my bitter cultivation? Dragon spawn, this doesn't concern you. Get out of my way now, or don't block my path!"
The centipede spoke with malintent, its entire body standing erect, hundreds of legs showcasing their claws and fangs.
"To feast on the incense offering is to alleviate human calamities. Although I've never received this person's incense offering, one of his ancestors had connections with me, and so I must save his life."
Yibai opened his gaping maw to speak human words.
"You want to save him? Fine, I agree. Since you want to save him, then little snake, take out your serpent heart in exchange. With your serpent heart, I'll only eat this person's limbs and spare his life, dragging out his miserable existence."
The centipede sneered, with Monster Qi churning out from its body.
Black mixed with a trace of red Monster Qi billowed out, quickly overpowering Yibai's Monster Qi.
Seeing this scene,
Yibai braced for a severe challenge, his mood sinking.
'This is going to be difficult; this centipede monster has come far in its transformation into a fully-fledged demon, and it's probably not far from condensing a Demon Core.'
Yibai knew his situation was awkward, but he had no choice but to stand his ground against the centipede.
The centipede no longer wanted a standoff with Yibai; its hundred legs twisted as it charged at an extremely fast speed toward the latter.
Its fangs aimed at Yibai's crucial seven-inch region, intending to strike a lethal blow.
'Damn it!'
Yibai was shocked by the centipede monster's astonishing speed.
In his mind, a golden Sanskrit 'A' manifested instantaneously.
As it happens in the blink of an eye,
Yibai, coiled in his serpent form, uttered human words: "A!"
The sacred and majestic sound echoed out.
Formless shockwaves, with his serpent body at the center, swept outwards in all directions.
The shockwave only harmed demons!
As the shockwave passed over leaves and earth, it merely blew them away.
When sweeping over Huang Xu, it felt like nothing more than a strong gust of wind.
However, when the shockwave hit the centipede, it was like a giant mountain crushing over, and the centipede's entire body split open, green blood oozing out.
The next moment, the centipede was blown away by the shockwave.
The surrounding demons were so frightened by the attack that they cowered and trembled on the ground.
The skies filled with Monster Qi were cleared by the shockwave.
Subdue demons and vanquish evil!
Yibai was also startled by the devastation caused by his roar.
He seemed to have underestimated the damage this move would inflict on demons.
"Immortal Hu, I had no intention of disrupting this wedding, and I hope you won't blame me!"
Yibai apologized repeatedly to the dumbfounded old fox not far away.
"My daughter's wedding was almost at its end, no harm done, no harm done. Dragon spawn, you weren't injured, were you?"
The old fox waved his hand, saying repeatedly.
"No harm. But I think, Immortal Hu, you should check if that Heavenly Dragon is okay."
Yibai looked toward the distance.
He wanted to see if the centipede was hurt as well.
But as he looked out,
where was the centipede to be found ahead?
Nothing but empty ground.
Only some green liquid remained on the ground.
The old fox beside him also followed Yibai's gaze.
Upon seeing the empty space, it sighed deeply in its heart and after a long while, it slowly spoke, "This centipede must have fled with serious injuries, alas, I don't even know how to explain this matter. This centipede, originally a demon struggling hard in its cultivation and of good conduct, but at some point, it tasted human flesh and there was no turning back."
"In recent days, this centipede somehow got hold of a few boys and girls, devoured them, and significantly increased its cultivation. Perhaps it was for this reason that after being exposed, it wanted to take this person away to devour and continue growing its cultivation."
The old fox spoke with a tone of helplessness.
After finishing, it wanted to check whether any of the demons who came to the banquet were injured.
But when it looked up, there were no demons to be seen, the whole place was deserted.
The demons had already fled without a trace at some unknown time.
This made the old fox so angry that it hopped around in rage.
Yibai also felt very embarrassed and apologized to the old fox again, but the latter didn't seem to care.
After they both busied themselves for a while.
The old fox had a few foxes take Huang Xu back to the county town.
Yibai, on the other hand, was asked by the old fox to stay in the Hu Family Lands to rest for a few more days.
With nowhere else to go, Yibai naturally accepted.
...
After a bustle of activity, the roosters crowed at dawn, and the sun slowly rose from the east.
As the sun appeared, the Monster Qi vanished completely.
In the clearing of the giant woods.
Yibai was situated in the midst of this area.
His heart was still pounding from the day's events.
The dangers he faced today were really too great, despite how easily he had defeated the Centipede Monster.
Only he knew just how difficult it had been.
If he had been even slightly slower in pronouncing the 'Ah' syllable, he would have been killed by the Centipede Monster.
But fortunately, he had the Sanskrit 'Ah', otherwise, he might indeed have been killed by the Centipede Monster.
"I am still too weak. It's too dangerous for me in the Immortal Cultivation Realm."
Yibai realized deeply just how profound and fathomless the Immortal Cultivation Realm was.
So...
he chose to go develop his strength in the Red Moon World first!
With a thought, Yibai's entire body vanished into thin air on the spot.
...
In the Red Moon World.
In a small village on the edge of Jin Town.
Yibai reappeared here once again.
He looked around, taking in the familiar sights, feeling as if he were in another world.
Wait a minute...
Where were his demon corpses?
Yibai knew that he had killed all the demons in this village.
He had only eaten a few demon corpses at that time.
The rest, even if decayed, should still be in their original place.
But his surroundings were empty.
There were no demons to be seen.
Yibai's face darkened.
He thought it through and could guess that probably those three humans had stolen the demon corpses.
Corpse thieves!
Although Yibai was not clear on why the three humans stole demon corpses, he was aware that the demon corpses must be of some help to these surviving humans.
He just wasn't sure what the change was.
Yibai twisted his serpent body, surveying the village.
All the demons in this village had been killed by him.
So this small village could also be considered his temporary territory...
