It seemed that Director Cao was so infuriated by the sight before him that he'd forgotten my presence. He just stared at the old woman, shaking nonstop—not out of fear, but out of anger.
"Who are you?" Since Director Cao didn't call for me, I took it upon myself to step forward and ask the white-haired old woman coldly.
"Kid, this has nothing to do with you. Beat it before I lose my temper," the old woman snapped, freezing me in my tracks. This ghostly apparition really had a way of attracting hatred. Without any provocation, it hurled insults at me, which fired me up. Originally, my intention was just to help Director Cao drive it away, but now I was starting to want to destroy it completely.
"Hmph, you should get lost while you can," I retorted. "You're just a wandering ghost, yet you dare to be so arrogant in front of me. Do you know who I am?"
