Chu Longfei pressed his ear against the door of the dormitory, listening intently for any movement inside. If there continued to be silence from now on, he would feel awkward calling out again, even though they had indeed been very annoying just now.
The silence inside remained, almost uncomfortably so. Chu Longfei frowned, somewhat hoping to hear some noise from the dorm that would give him a good excuse to bang on the door or, if feeling extreme, kick it open.
Suddenly, Chu Longfei felt as if someone was standing behind him. It was pure intuition. It was like when you feel someone staring and you instinctively look in that direction, perhaps what they call a "Sixth Sense."
He spun around sharply, but there was nothing behind him. Chu Longfei swept his gaze through the corridor, puzzled. Apart from the dim light at the end, there was not even a shadow, let alone a ghostly one.
