Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 Old Liu 4

"Fuck, the door is actually locked, what do we do?" After reaching the back of the abandoned school building and seeing the locked main door, Xiao Wang cursed loudly.

"Let's split up and look around, see which window we can get through."

The four of them split into three groups to look for a way in, and the reason they split into three groups was that Old Liu was scared and stuck close behind Xiao Cao, refusing to go alone at all costs.

Locked... locked... locked... Three windows in a row were locked. Because the night was so quiet, they didn't dare to break the glass to get in, fearing they might attract the security from inside the school.

"Quick, come here, the window of this restroom can be opened." As everyone else searched in vain, Xiao Cao shouted loudly.

Everyone swiftly gathered around, and when they pulled on the window, it actually opened. Xiao Yang planted his hands on the sill, stood atop it, and with a flip, jumped inside. He reached for the light switch and flicked it, to no avail—it must have been disconnected after the school building was abandoned.

Without waiting for us to enter, he pushed open the restroom door and walked out with a flashlight.

Old Liu was in a constant state of tension. It took him considerable effort to finally get into the restroom. Afterward, the three of them exited the restroom with their flashlights, intent on finding Xiao Yang who had gone ahead. The moment they walked out, Old Liu felt as though he heard some noise from the second stall, but fear of being ridiculed by his friends stopped him from saying anything, only making him more frightened.

The three searched for a long time with their flashlights and still couldn't find Xiao Yang or hear a response to their loud calls. Old Liu suggested, "What if he's been taken by a ghost? Let's get out of here quickly."

Xiao Wang's response was a thump on Old Liu's head. Old Liu clutched his head, not daring to speak, fearing it might earn him another thump.

The three called out as they went, checking classroom after classroom, still without a trace of Xiao Yang.

First floor... second floor... third floor... They searched every classroom, where could Xiao Yang have gone? Was he playing a prank to scare everyone?

Ah...

A scream echoed up from downstairs. Hearing that it was Xiao Yang's voice, the three rushed down. Through searching, they found him in a corner of a classroom on the second floor.

At that moment, Xiao Yang was huddled in a shivering ball, mumbling for something not to come closer.

Old Liu and the others helped Xiao Yang up, comforting him. It took quite a while before Xiao Yang regained his composure, still trembling with residual fear.

He said that after entering, he left the restroom and after waiting for over ten minutes without seeing anyone, he went back to the restroom only to find it empty. No matter how much he yelled, there was no answer. Just as he was getting scared, he heard Xiao Cao calling him and followed the sound up to the second floor.

Upon reaching the top, he saw Old Liu and the others entering a classroom with their flashlights. He quickly followed, but when he got inside, it was pitch black and empty. At first, he thought they were hiding to scare him, so he searched under the rows of seats with his flashlight.

Bang!

The classroom door slammed shut, startling Xiao Yang. He rushed to the door and tried desperately to open it, but no matter how hard he tried, the door wouldn't budge, as if it were fused to the floor. He yelled, "Stop messing around, or I'll get angry!" but there was no response.

Xiao Yang was afraid. He wished he could jump out the window to escape, but when he opened it, he was disappointed to find that it was firmly sealed with wire mesh. He thought of the rear door to the classroom—perhaps that could be opened.

He had only taken a few steps toward the rear door when he noticed someone standing there. Quickly shining his flashlight in that direction, he saw a beautiful silhouette from behind, with long, dark hair cascading down to her waist. The old-fashioned school uniform seemed unable to conceal her slender figure, and on her feet were a pair of outdated sneakers. She stood there, silent and still.

Could they also be here for an adventure? Seeing someone else, Xiao Yang calmed down considerably and walked over step by step.

"Classmate, are you here for an adventure too?"

"Yes, but I can't find my classmates. I'm so scared—they say this place is haunted," the girl with the beautiful silhouette said softly.

Xiao Yang's previous terror was thrown to the winds; to be a hero saving a beauty in such a terrifying place—who knew what might happen next?

Xiao Yang suggested that the girl should leave with him first, but she refused. She said she was waiting for her friends so they could leave together since they had agreed beforehand not to leave anyone behind. With no other choice, he decided to chat with the girl for a while, which would also give him time to wait for Old Liu and the others.

After chatting for about half an hour, Xiao Yang found it strange—why had the girl been facing away from him the whole time?

"Why don't you turn around to talk?"

"No, I'm ugly. I'm afraid I'll frighten you."

"That won't happen. Appearance is just a stinking sack of flesh. True beauty lies within the soul."

After hearing Xiao Yang's words, the girl slowly turned around.

Xiao Yang let out a scream and fell to the ground, his body trembling uncontrollably as he witnessed a horrifying scene.

The girl's face was as pale as paper, with no nose, one eye on her forehead, and the other where the nose should be. Her mouth was stretched almost to the ears, and her bright red tongue kept licking her lips. Drool dripped down from that old school uniform, and from her right wrist gushed blood from a deep wound.

"Liar, you're all liars. They deceived me and left me alone here. You came to deceive me too, hehehe, I will kill all of you, not leaving a single one," the girl stepped closer to Xiao Yang, shouting in a ghastly voice.

If not for his utmost self-control, he might have fainted already. He kept reminding himself that as long as he stayed conscious, there was hope. At that moment, how much he wished Old Liu and the others would burst in and rescue him from this dire situation.

He struggled to move backward bit by bit until he was finally in the corner of the classroom, hugging his head and screaming for her not to come near.

He felt an ice-cold hand stroking his neck; breathing became more and more difficult, and his consciousness slowly slipped away. All he could hear was a voice repeating over and over in his ears—I will kill all of you, not leaving a single one...

When he was awakened by a violent shake, Old Liu and the others were there before his eyes...

After hearing Xiao Yang's story and seeing his expression of having survived a catastrophe, the three of them immediately ended their adventure.

The group hurried to the first-floor bathroom and climbed out through the window.

Once Old Liu and his companions had left, they realized Xiao Yang had disappeared again.

With no other choice, the three of them plucked up their courage and entered the bathroom once more. Before they even started to open the doors, they heard some noises coming from stall number two...
