As the credits song played, Lex pondered for a moment.
The movie was actually not perfect.
Although the second half had strong scenes, the plot followed a conventional, heroic narrative of self-sacrifice to buy time, culminating in reinforcements arriving to defeat the enemy, without breaking much new ground.
But sometimes, a conventional story is just what can make you feel exhilarated.
Even though Lex knew from the actions and words of the Mage earlier in the story that he might eventually sacrifice himself, and even though he could guess that reinforcements would surely arrive later, when he actually saw these scenes unfold, his emotions were still stirred, and he couldn't help but feel excited by the plot.
Even more, Lex felt that this plot was especially thrilling, as it made his heart race like he was right there in the fortress.
