In Lu Ban's hand appeared, yet again, a skull.

However, this skull, unlike the previous one with its odd shape and pointed chin, was more humanlike and of a normal shape.

Inside the skull lurked a pitch-dark flame, an unnatural hue unseen in reality; it cast an eerie and bizarre atmosphere when contrasted with the ghastly white bone.

Lu Ban held the skull, preparing to crush it as he did before, but as he looked at the coarse and grey-white cranium, an idea struck him.

He stuck out his tongue.

The sensation was granular and rough, resembling the hidden joints at the end of a chicken wing's cartilage.

"It's no use."

Lu Ban came to this conclusion.

He then exerted force on his hand and crushed the brittle skull.

Grey dust and pure black flames combined into a dense and thick fog that moved without wind, burrowing into Lu Ban's ears, nose, and mouth.

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of wet black hair retracting like worms back into the drain of the sewer.
