Qin Shou, upon hearing the noise, looked over and saw in a depression of the hill a demon with black and white fur and a crew cut, standing with hands on hips, sweeping its gaze defiantly in all directions, exuding an air of fearless bravado, as if daring anyone to challenge it!
Under its feet lay a person, and around it sprawled a dozen more, each beaten until they were spitting out their tongues, with eyes rolled white, not knowing if they were dead or alive.
Qin Shou cracked a smile and thought to himself in awe, "Holy shit! Are untransformed demons this fierce nowadays?"
Upon closer inspection, Qin Shou found the demon vaguely familiar. After giving it some thought, he exclaimed, "Damn it! That's a Baldy spirit! No wonder it's so tough!"
Qin Shou was quite familiar with creatures like Baldy.
Baldy is what they're called in the martial arts world, but their real name should be the Honey Badger, native to the African savannas of Earth—a very peculiar creature!
