Ziiing—
A black sedan stopped by the road.
The friction of the tires kicked up quite a splash on the wet ground.
The man got out of the car, still clad in a spotless white lab coat. He had come in a hurry and hadn't had time to change. With a black umbrella in hand, he made his way to the bus stop on the side of the road.
Underneath the bus stop sign, a girl sat with her head lowered, hair in a mess, cheeks flushed red and swollen, yet her expression remained calm.
"Where's Ruanruan?"
Fu Chi strode over quickly, his lips tightly drawn, his eyes as thick and looming as the inky depths of the sea.
His refined demeanor seemed to have subtly shifted.
Upon hearing his voice, Jiang Yuxin suddenly lifted her head. Her hollow eyes, at last, showed signs of life.
She immediately stood up, her voice hoarse, "In the alley across the street. Be careful, Mr. Fu."
Jiang Ruan wouldn't let her call the police, so the only person she could think of was Fu Chi.
