Fu Chi raised his eyelids, his eyes deep and not very bright.
He glanced at Yun Qianshu who was on the side.
"I've been away from home for too long, I can't really remember."
Yun Lan responded with a light laugh, "No problem, it's good that you're back. It's never too late to get in touch with old friends."
Jiang Ruan raised an eyebrow. She felt she had a general understanding of what he meant.
Isn't this fairly obvious – he fancies her man?
Fu Chi, holding Jiang Ruan's hand, sat on the couch. He spoke lightly, "I think, Ms. Yun probably has no intention of rekindling the relationship with the old friend."
This was a rejection in its own way.
Fu Tingyuan took a sip of tea and finally played mediator: "You know how Qianshu is. She takes her time warming up to people."
"The illness hasn't improved?"
Fu Chi interrupted directly.
His tone was calm yet inexplicably cold.
A single sentence.
The atmosphere froze subtly.
The smile on Yun Lan's face receded slightly.
