Linjiang Prefecture is considered the largest prefectural city among the several prefectures in Linhuai Province, and therefore, the provincial Governor's Office is also located in Linjiang Prefecture. In Yang Ruxin's view, a province is equivalent to a province in the future, and thus Linjiang City is the provincial capital.
Even traveling by carriage from Lianhua Town to Linjiang City took over four hours, which is nearly nine hours. Winter nights fall early, so despite their haste, it was already dark by the time they entered the city gates of the prefectural city.
The prefectural city is something that county towns cannot compare with. Although it was nighttime, the streets were still bustling with people due to the upcoming New Year, and many shops were still open.
