The vegetarian lunch was spread out on the first floor of Wangjiang Building. To the left and right of Cheng Yue sat the Little Monk and Qian Yixiu, with Qian Yeejin just below the monk, and Monkey Sister beside Qian Yixiu, while a visibly pregnant Tiaotiao squatted under the table eating.
Though there weren't many people, laughter was constant, warm and heartfelt.
The three children and the monkey all scrambled to have Cheng Yue add food to their bowls, pretending to be jealous if they thought they got less, and calling out for "Mother" to add more. Even the Little Monk unintentionally called out "Mother" several times. Monkey Sister, not being able to speak, would just tap her bowl with a spoon.
Cheng Yue smiled so broadly that her eyes squinted, as she kept adding food to their bowls, and comforted them, saying, "Be good, no rush, Mother is going to add some for you now..."
