Qian Yixiu, fearing that the macaque from Xiding Mountain would be afraid of the Fierce Red Monkey, dressed Monkey Sister in a set of snug little clothes and a scarf.
They arrived at Daci Temple and went straight to the Little Monk's residence.
The Little Monk seemed to have anticipated their arrival and was already waiting at the gate of the small courtyard.
Upon seeing the items the siblings had brought him, he grinned, saying, "Go back and thank auntie for the Poor Monk."
Back in the Little Monk's meditation room, he brought out a purple statue of Maitreya about ten centimeters tall and said, "The year before last, I asked my eldest senior brother for a piece of Purple Sandalwood Wood. It took over a year to carve this statue of Maitreya. Please take it back for auntie, hoping the Buddha will bless her to be happy and not too troubled."
The siblings were very touched, thanked the Little Monk, and worshipped the Buddha before carefully packing the statue in their bag.
