August 28th was an auspicious day for weddings. On this day, it was the big joyful occasion of marrying off a daughter in the Qian family of Huaxi Village. Not only did important officials from the county town come, but also high-ranking officials from the provincial city. From the county, the town, and nearby villages within ten miles, anyone of status, regardless of whether they were invited or not, if they had any contact with the Qian family, they all came. Added to these were several fellow villagers who had good relations, making Guiyuan unable to accommodate them all.
Therefore, Qian's Main Courtyard was also put to use, specifically to entertain nearby villagers. This was overseen by the couple of Qian Dagui and Qian Ergui.
