The hall was still brightly lit, and the silhouettes of several people were reflected in the window lattice. Pei Qian looked on from a distance, her expression filled with rage and hatred.
Wei Shu came out of the door, called a maid over, and gave her a few instructions. The maid quickly went to carry out the orders. Wei Shu raised her head and caught sight of Pei Qian standing in the corridor of the wing-room with an unfriendly gaze, prompting a slight hook at the corner of her mouth.
The maid soon returned carrying a food box.
Wei Shu took the food box and glanced at Pei Qian again. She took a couple of steps, but couldn't help turning back around and gazed towards the wing-room where Pei Qin was sleeping. Although the room was pitch-dark, she felt as though she could see Pei Qin hiding behind the window, seething with jealousy and anger, which made her feel a slight sense of pleasure. Holding the food box, she entered her room with a spring in her step.
