Meanwhile, at the other end, Huo Zhanting and An Lan's relationship rapidly warmed up after laying everything on the table. Huo Zhanting became a doting husband, breaking away from his former workaholic tendencies. He began leaving work on time each day, and often brought small surprises home for An Lan.
Huo Zhanting was concerned about An Lan's well-being and didn't want her to overwork herself, so he took over all of the An Family's business dealings. An Lan was content with the newfound leisure, and found herself completely free, with nothing much to do besides sleep. Seeing her bored, Huo Zhanting even entertained the idea of bringing work home to keep her company, an idea she promptly vetoed.
"Work is important; you don't need to bring it home just to keep me company, and besides, I'm not that bored."
