Wen Sheng hadn't expected that Fu Yanlin would bring her to an inconspicuous little restaurant by the river.
The winter night was howling with cold winds, and the temperature outside was nearly zero degrees.
Outside the small restaurant, a temporary tent was set up, filled with small round tables. The place wasn't large, run by a middle-aged couple.
As they approached, the rich scent of spicy beef hit their noses.
"You find a seat, I'll go order," Fu Yanlin suggested.
Wen Sheng had seen many of these family-run stalls in Jiazhou. Most of them only opened in the evening, operating until the early hours, known for their good value. She remembered, during her sophomore year in high school, there was also a husband and wife beef noodle stall behind Jiazhou No.1 High School which she would occasionally patronize after evening study sessions.
