Chapter 20 - Chapter 18: An Sister's Anger

While Scarlett schemed plans for Asher's future.

He was walking towards the kitchen, wanting to eat something sweet! Asher wasn't paying attention anywhere, thinking of what he can do for now.

'Most of the relics won't appear for 6 years, but I can only get some skills… As for Traits?... They are hard to get.' The relics required different events that will occur in the far future. When the 'Real game begins.'

"Ash!" Suddenly, a tiny whirlwind of black and purple fluff torpedoed into Asher with a high-pitched voice squeaked, almost… almost knocking him off balance.

"Auro~ra." He yelped in surprise. He turned to find his twin sister, Aurora, fuming with adorable fury.

Her cheeks puffed out like a hamster's, her little fists were clenched, and her tiny feet stomped a fierce, albeit ineffective, on the floor.

"Where did you go?" she fumed, her voice trembling slightly. "I looked everywhere for you!" She has the right to be angry at him. You know how big this mansion was? She had to search everywhere.

They should always be together. After all, twins have a duty to be together, right? And here he was, venturing off on his own without even telling her a single word!

She was angry, Aurora was definitely angry. If Asher didn't come up with a good excuse, a terrible, albeit fluffy, punishment awaited him.

Yup, Young Aurora was brewing some plans. The wheels of her tiny mind were already churning, plotting a series of mischievous pranks to ensure this 'mistake' wouldn't be repeated.

Once was enough, twice was unacceptable, and the thought of Asher venturing off alone on a regular basis filled her with a deep…

Aurora shook her head. Someone needed to teach him a lesson. And it had to be her.

He needs to pay, she angrily glares at him.

Asher who saw her like this, couldn't help but chuckle internally. He knew exactly how to play his sister, and wouldn't mind being a 'kind brother' as he really was.

"What's wrong?" he asked, feigning confusion and tilting his head in concern. "I was just checking out my Anima."

This only served to deepen Aurora's frown. Her tiny brow furrowed even further.

"You- You- You went without telling me!" Aurora's anger spiked. Her tiny finger, like a chubby sausage, jabbed accusingly at him.

She gritted her teeths in anger. She stomped on the poor ground once… and twice… She took a deep breath, trying to look stern.

"How could you do this to your own sister?" She demanded, her lower lip trembling precariously. An expression of wrongness came across her face.

The nearby maids exchanged knowing glances, their lips twitching with suppressed smiles. Their little lady was throwing a tantrum today.

"..."

"You had fun with your pretty gloves, didn't you?" Getting no answer from him, she whimpered, her voice thick with betrayal.

A tear came from the corner of her eyes. Poor Aurora, she wanted to be included! Why did he always leave her out?

For a second, Asher thought for which action to take, but at the glance towards Aurora, he sighed.

"Ahh! Aur, Can you forgive your big brother? I promise I didn't know you were so interested in my Anima," He pleaded, putting on his most apologetic face, while hiding the smirk underneath his skin.

Extending his arms for a hug. He couldn't bear to see her upset, even if her theatrics were enough to make a grown man choke on his tea – not that he'd ever admit that. He doesn't want to deal with a crying kid. Definitely not.

"..." Aurora remained unconvinced, her head shaking stubbornly as she hugged her tiny arms around herself.

'Kids.' A soft smile tugging at his lips. He knew this would be easily resolved. But how?

Just as he was about to brainstorm a more elaborate plan, Aurora surprised him. She threw her arms around him in a surprisingly tight hug, her voice muffled against his chest.

"I'm sorry Aur, but I really don't want to do that!" he mumbled, his voice thick with what could only be interpreted as genuine remorse.

Aurora went silent for moments. Then, he heard her voice trailed off into a choked sob as she burrowed deeper into her brother's embrace. He held her close, stroking her soft hair.

"Then… just don't… leave me alone…" she mumbled, her voice barely above a whisper. Her tiny body trembled slightly against his.

"Big sis... is also gone," Aurora continued, sniffling softly. "And now brother is 'busy' too; Aurora feels lonely." This wasn't entirely a lie. Their elder sister, Elysia, was often caught up in her own rigorous training.

And She was super excited, after finding out Asher isn't less talented than her.

Aurora wanted to spend time together with him, enjoy together as they practised, and see his cool gloves.

"It's... lonely brother..." she whimpered, tightening her grip on him. Mama Scarlett would spend time with her, of course, but sometimes even she was busy with her duties as head of the household.

But Asher? He was her twin, her other half. She wants to be with her big brother. Not separated from him.

"I'm sorry, Aur. Brother won't do this again." he whispered near her ear. He couldn't help but chuckle internally – how could he abandon such a talented villainess in the making?

Asher's lips curved into a barely perceptible smile. He had her exactly where he wanted her – vulnerable, dependent. Perfect.

That aside, he kinda likes her character. Not this brat. The future one.

Also, her status is quite intriguing…

Aurora peeked up at him, her eyes sparkling with a mischievous glint. "Promise?" she sniffled, a hint of a smile playing on her lips.

"Promise," Asher confirmed, sealing it with a kiss on her forehead. "Besides, who else would help me test out my cool new abilities?" he murmured, stroking her hair.

"Really? Can we do it now." Aurora's smile bloomed fully, chasing away the last traces of sadness. Her previous sadness and anger seemed to suspiciously dissipate, replaced by a childish eagerness.

"Not now," he said, stroking her hair. "How about showing me yours. Big brother is excited to know how his Little sister's Anima works." He asked with interest, a cold amusement flickering in his eyes.

"Okay~" in a cheerful voice, she leads him back to her own newly acquired facility room.

Asher may have been planning the future, but for now, he had a more important role to play - the role of the best big brother a little villainess could ask for.

After all, even villains needed their families.
