Chapter 27 - Hidden Plan(2)

Siegbert smiled as he looked at the condominiums. "If I tell you the information and I am wrong, then it could end my political career, but it should be fine because my role is already done."

Then he stared at Argam. "Benson owns a logistic company. The trucks are traveling daily within the city or to the other cities, and the containers possess technology that prevent heat sensors. Their family also own warehouses all over the city. We haven't secured any evidence, but you might be capable of digging them."

Argam smiled. "It's useful information. If we are wrong, I promise to release a statement, so it will not involve you."

Siegbert chuckled. "A press release from you will not clear my name. The election is coming. If we are wrong and it is weaponized by Benson's family, then my name will be stained. Even the timing of building the condominium will be weaponized by them. I will look like a hypocrite."

Harty had a look of surprise on his face as he stood on Argam's shoulder. "Aren't you a hypocrite?"

Aria giggled, and the others laughed.

Siegbert smiled. "You think that every politician has that kind of trait. I will let you think the way you want, but no politician would want to be known like that."

Argam chuckled. "You know that our family is from Mageaf, right?"

Siegbert nodded his head as he kept smiling. He understood what Argam meant. "Yeah, the Horn Family. Although it no longer matters to me if I lose, I still want to keep my name clean, or else I won't be able to face my ancestors."

Harty nodded his head. "Yeah, that is what a hypocrite will say. Let's go."

Argam chuckled. "He had a history with politicians. Don't mind him."

"I understand."

Argam and the others flew away as Siegbert stared at them.

"It would be fascinating to have the ability to fly and wield magic," murmured Siegbert. He felt fascinated with magic since he was saved by an exonn when he was young. He, too, was yearning for it.

Cid was approaching Siegbert. The businessmen were also with him. "Sir, the residents could transfer on time tomorrow."

"Hahahaha, Mayor Siegbert, you no longer need to spend so much on your campaign. The three huge condominiums are your huge advertisement," said a middle-aged man named Charles.

"I was surprised when Siegbert proposed the plan. Instead of spending the money on your campaign, our money will instead be used to build the condominium. I am even more surprised that Charles donated a huge part of the money. Is there something under the table agreements that we don't know?" said another businessman named Chris.

Charles laughed. "I am in the construction field. My company is responsible for building the park, so I will not lose much. Besides, you all belong to different fields of business, so we won't have a conflict."

"Hmm, so are you saying that it is only in the field of business?"

Charles chuckled. "We are adults here. The more you give, the more you get, the higher the risk. I spent the biggest amount, and I am willing to take the risk, so you should not blame me, right?"

Chris and the other businessmen laughed.

"How could we do that? We don't have a problem with that. It's just that we are allies, but you are not making it clear to us about your plans. It will be bad if a mishap happens and we are not prepared," said Chris.

Charles' eyes turned sharper as he stared at Chris.

The atmosphere was growing tense, so Siegbert had to mediate. "It's not the right place to talk about that. Let's go to my house."

After lunch, Charles, Chris, and the other businessmen left Siegbert's house while laughing together.

Siegbert changed his clothes and went to his training hall.

Cid chuckled as they walked. "They really are businessmen. Profit will shut their mouths."

"It's always been that way since ancient times. Go back to the park. You need to make sure that the residents will not meet a problem tomorrow," said Siegbert as he drew his katana sword.

"Yes, sir."

Meanwhile, Rhys' team was on a rooftop as they studied the information that they had. There was a projection screen of Enberg City over a tablet on the floor. The routes of trucks and the warehouses under Benson's family were marked.

"W-Why are we meeting here?" asked Aria.

"You will understand later, kid," said the penguin with a smile. "With the trucks and warehouses, it is possible to make people disappear from the blindspots of the camera, hide them in warehouses, and take them out of the city. Even if the containers were to open, they should have prepared countermeasures to prevent detection."

Argam nodded his head. "There is difficulty in making cameras available at all angles in the city because they will be deliberately destroyed. Demons don't have to do it personally. They can employ greedy tech-savvy humans."

Harty looked at Rhys, who seemed calm. "What do you think, kid?"

Rhys smiled. "I think we just have to wait. They will show their tail."

Harty and Argam chuckled. The others looked puzzled.

"Do you know what is going on?" whispered Rupert to the rabbit. Egon and Aria moved closer and wanted to listen.

The rabbit was acting mysterious. His face looked very serious, then he said,"Secrets cannot be revealed."

He actually didn't know what was going on. He was watching Detective Poss with Rupert when Rhys, the penguin, and Argam were making plans.

Egon had a look of anger on his face and thought,"Damn rabbit! Just be honest and say that you don't know!"

Then he looked at Argam. "Are you not going to tell us?"

Argam smiled. "Kid, you all will know them later. Now is not the right time."

Then he looked at the team members. "Move separately and observe the warehouses."

Within a car, Benson was watching the bustling street with a smile. "How's the plan?"

Jim chuckled. "Everything is ready, sir."

A bigger smile appeared on Benson's face.

Somewhere in a high-tier hunting zone, there was a fifty-meter-tall tree with a wide trunk and huge roots. It was surrounded by big plants that were ten to fifteen meters tall. Below the tree, Tenel was sitting on a throne while he was talking with a muscular man who had tan skin.

The tier 3 demon named Tarun chuckled. "Among the chaos that we plan to do, your plan will probably be the loudest."

Tenel smiled. "That is why I called you here. Your subordinate with earth magic that made the magic circle in Rusvel would have not been able to do it quickly, and I need you to play with the exonns until we complete the plan."

Tarun laughed. "I hope it won't be a boring task."
