Chapter 28 - Bishop

The next day, city residents who were able to buy a condominium had excited looks on their faces. There were media reporting the scene.

Siegbert, Benson, Exonns, and the businessmen were holding a ribbon as they prepared to cut.

The residents cheered when the ribbon was finally cut, then they excitedly moved to their new home. Their properties were already put in place in the past few days with the help of the city government.

Reporters were interviewing Siegbert.

There was a smile on Siegbert's face. "I hope it will serve as a hallmark."

Benson was also interviewed. He was smiling and said,"Although we are likely to face each other in the coming election, we have the same goal, which is for the welfare of the residents in this city. I fully support the Mayor's Hope Park."

After the interview, he left with his assistant. Benson was watching the city streets while they were sitting in a car. A smile appeared on his face. "It will be a lively night."

Jim had a big smile when he heard Benson.

Meanwhile, Argam received a call from Oliver.

"That Hosman who is on the watch list order was seen and fought by an exonn of the association. The exonn had to run away because a snake beastman helped the grivvarm. The innate ability of their races gave them the strength of Tier 2," said Oliver through the digital watch.

"Is that exonn can be trusted?" asked Argam.

Oliver nodded his head. "I've known him for years. He has a family. He is not the type of guy that will fall for the demon's temptations and abandon his family to escape to another world."

"Thanks," said Argam.

Oliver nodded his head, then the call ended.

Argam turned on the projection of a map and looked at the area where Hosman and Vilret appeared. "It is near the delivery route of the trucks."

Harty chuckled, then he looked at Rhys, who was thinking while looking at the projection. "Kid, you are right. They will show their tail."

Rhys smiled. "It's time to take the next steps."

They went to Mayor Siegbert and informed him of their plan.

"We will use a car in the evening, then move to the suspected place by foot, because they could be monitoring the sky. Inform us immediately if you notice something suspicious on Benson," said Argam.

Siegbert nodded his head. "I still could not believe that Benson cooperated with the demons."

Harty chuckled. "His ambition might not be limited to a city. You know, demons know how to play with emotions. They could make your greed grow, raise your fear, plant anger, and many more, so they could make you follow their command in exchange for something that will satisfy your desire."

"You are right. Benson is ambitious, but I did not realize his ambition to be that big. Does he not realize that he will lose everything if he is found out?" said Siegbert with a sigh.

Argam smiled. "Some remain sane, but some lose their mind when they shake hands with demons."

In the evening, the team rode a black van.

Benson was on top of a tall building. He was holding a glass filled with wine as he looked at the city through a glass window. There was a mysterious smile on his face.

At 2 a.m., when most people were already asleep, Tenel was standing on a rooftop in Enberg City. He was smiling as he stared at some buildings. "Good job, Bishop."

Bishop moved out of a dark shadow.

"It's my honor to work for you, sir," said Siegbert, alias Bishop.

Tenel chuckled. "Have you adjusted to your new power?"

Siegbert raised his hand, then it was covered by dark energy. "Although I only took the demon core yesterday, I know my body very well, so I was able to adjust very quickly."

Tenel smiled. He touched his chin and said,"The power of demonic trent does not actually fit your martial arts, which is swordsmanship. There is actually demonic power from other black thrones that will fit you, but I can't let a talented being like you fall to others' hands. You can't blame me for that, right?"

Siegbert smiled. "It's fine. Swordsmanship will still be my main offensive attack, and dark energy will give me power that only existed in my dream before. Although I failed the trial of Heaven's Gate, I still got the opportunity to stay in the illusion for many years and further hone my martial arts, and I believe that the power of demonic trent will make my offensive attacks stronger."

Tenel's smile became bigger."By the way, did Tarun attract most of the association's attention?"

"It should be. We let Hosman and Vilret appear near that place. We secretly helped Benson to increase his family's power and set up logistics company and warehouses. We secretly kidnap people using the trucks and warehouses without their knowledge, but we made it look like it was Benson's plan with the help of our hidden piece on that man's side, Jim. Our plan in the city will definitely catch suspicion, so I made the abnormalities directed to Benson. Tarun and your other underlings will play hide and seek with the association, until we finish what we are doing here."

Tenel laughed. "You fit the quality of a demon. You should have joined our side earlier, hahahaha!"

"Hmm?" Something caught his attention. He looked behind him, then the door that led to the rooftop was opened. Argam and Rhys walked out of the door with smiles on their faces.

Tenel and Siegbert were shocked.
