Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Ava's PoV

I thought I would be fine, but I ended up with a fever. Fortunately, Aubrey is here, taking care of me while doing her research. Erza called me earlier, and we had a normal conversation as if nothing had happened between us. It's good that things turned out well, but deep down, I can't help but feel disappointed. However, it's not his fault. I also allowed him to have his way with me, so I don't have the right to complain. It's already a relief that our friendship is intact.

"By the way, why did you suddenly catch a fever?" she asked, turning her swivel chair towards me.

"Because I'm sick," I replied, and she smirked. What's with her this time?

"You finally have a boyfriend, right? I noticed a lot of hickeys on your body. Come on, who is he?" she asked, and I hid underneath my blanket.

"It's a secret," I said, and she sat on me! My god, she's heavy!

"I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours," she said, and I tried to push her away, but she was so heavy that I couldn't even move her a bit!

"I'm not interested! Besides, I don't have a boyfriend!" I exclaimed, and she was surprised."Then... who the hell did you sleep with?" she asked seriously, and I avoided her gaze. There's no way I would tell you-

"Don't tell me you slept with Ezra?" she said, and I tried my best not to react because she's too intelligent and can read my facial expressions! Oh, come on!

"Ahhhh!!" she grabbed my hair and planned to break my fucking neck!

"Idiot! You've given him your heart for damn years! How could you just give your body?" she angrily said while pulling my hair hard. I tried to free myself, but being sick made me weak.

"Let me go, you villain!" I said, and I saw her eyes filled with anger. Did I trigger her even more? My god, she's crazy!

"You... You know I love you, Ava. Not just as a friend, but as my soul sister, you fucking idiot. We've been together for ten fucking years, so don't expect me to be happy that you finally slept with the love of your life when everyone in this world knows that Ezra likes Isabella," she said while crying. See? She's unpredictable. I should be the one crying after she pulled my hair like crazy, but look at her crying now.

"I love him, and it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I just gave myself a chance..." I said, tears streaming down my face too. Fuck she's so frustrating. She got up and put on her coat.

"Where are you going?"

"I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight unless I beat that bastard into a pulp," she said, raging like a serial killer! She was about to leave, but I grabbed her back!

"Hey, let me go! I just want to punch him! Just once! How dare he lay a finger on my sister!" she said, still wanting to leave, but I accidentally fell to the floor, which made her calm down a little.

"Oops sorry..." She worriedly said.

"Ouch that's hurt" I'm just taking it but she bought it. She helped me up, and checked my knees and elbows, just to be sure that I wasn't injured. Thankfully, I was fine. She seemed to have calmed down now but with her temperament, she might confront Ezra later.

"Fine, I'll tell you but shut your mouth, or else I'll be mad," I said and she sighed in response. I explained to her what had happened, and she immediately wanted to make a scene. However, I pleaded with her not to, as I knew that the only person who would end up getting hurt would be me. Thankfully I managed to stop her.

"Seriously Ava, make sure this doesn't happen again, or I swear I'll pull out all of your hair and I'll kill that shithead," she warned, her tone serious. I nodded in agreement, assuring her that it was truly a one-time thing. Because that's the case, whether I like it or not.

Ava left quietly but she asked me some ridiculous favor, I just accepted because she's blackmailing me. Soul sister huh? My ass!

The next day, despite feeling nervous, I knew I had to go to school. Thankfully, my fever had subsided. As I entered the practice room, I noticed that Ezra hadn't arrived yet. I greeted my other bandmates and we began our rehearsal like usual. We were preparing for another performance scheduled for the intramurals, which was a month away.

Suddenly, I heard Ezra's voice coming from the door. I quickly turned to look and there he was, looking at me. I still felt embarrassed, but I mustered up a smile, just like I always did.

"Good morning," I greeted him, and he nodded in response.

As usual, we talked about music, performances, and practice. We spent hours together practicing. Ezra seemed to be acting normal, so I tried my best to do the same. However, I couldn't help but notice that he had brought out headphones. They...weren't the ones I had given him...

"Hey, you got a new pair," Henry teased him, and Ezra smiled, clearly loving his new headphones. I'm not hurt.. yeah I'm not.. it's just I'm a little disappointed.

"Oh, my girl gifted them to me," he happily shared.

"Girl? Not your girlfriend yet?" Henry playfully teased, causing Ezra to laugh and blush. It was evident that he was deeply in love. I wished I could openly blush like that whenever I talked about him. Aside from Aubrey and Chloe, no one knows my unrequited love.

"Yeah, I still have to wait a little bit. She agreed to have dinner with me tonight," Ezra happily revealed. I forced myself to laugh along with them, masking the turmoil of emotions inside me. I had planned to talk to him about our one-night stand, but it seemed like it wasn't a big deal to him. So I'll just try to keep it like it never happened, just like how he's doing now. But it fucking hurts, it's throbbing inside my chest and I felt like my tears were about to fall.

Feeling overwhelmed with emotions, I excused myself and hurriedly left the room before my tears could fall. As I stepped outside, I unexpectedly ran into William, who was standing there.

"Oh, good morning," I greeted him, trying to compose myself. But to my surprise, he handed me a drink.

"Good morning... I just stopped by to give this," he said, his expression serious but his sincerity evident. I smiled gratefully in response.

"Thanks. By any chance, are you heading back to your classroom?" I asked, hoping for some company. He nodded in agreement.

"Then let's go together. It just happens that we're heading in the same way," I suggested, and we started walking side by side. I took a sip of the drink he gave me, and it tasted amazing.

"I heard from Aubrey that you got sick, so I chose a herbal drink for you. Don't overthink it, I'm not a stalker. Aubrey is my classmate in one subject," he explained, and I couldn't help but laugh.

"You're so defensive," I teased, noticing a secret smile on his face. He may seem cold, but deep down, he's a warm person. Unlike Ezra, who didn't even ask if I was doing well, William went out of his way to bring me an herbal drink just because he heard I was sick. He's quite romantic, isn't he?

"Ah, Ava... Can I have your number?" he asked, and I nodded, thinking that having a new friend wouldn't hurt. I gave him my number, and he reciprocated by giving me his.

We chatted about various topics, and before I knew it, I had already passed my original destination!

"Oh, William, I should go now. Hahaha, it was nice talking to you," I said, ready to leave. But to my surprise, he grabbed my hand.

"Do you mind if I text you sometimes?" he asked, his honesty making me laugh once again.

"You're straightforward," I remarked, causing him to blush. See? How can they call him a cold statue when he's just like a normal typical tsundere type of guy? He let go of my hand and adjusted his tie.

"So, can I?" he asked once more, seeking confirmation. I nodded in response.

"Sure, William, just don't send me any weird stuff. Hahaha, anyway, I have to go now," I said, and he simply waved his hands. He's a typical tsundere type of guy. But thanks to him, I forgot to cry.

I dropped by the clinic to get some anti-sore throat candy before heading back to the practice room. But to my surprise, no one was there... Where did they go?

To be continued...
