The man slammed his foot on the accelerator, and the truck surged forward, bouncing over rocks, weeds, and the uneven terrain of the mountain road.
"When did these things even start existing?" I heard Luke ask about the truck as I tried, unsuccessfully, to sense those pursuing us, though it was all in vain.
With such strong emotions and the tension of the chase, I couldn't fully sense where each of them was.

"That's right. The king is quite famous for his taste in 'borrowing' inventors from foreign kingdoms."
