"Here it is. The border with the shadow."
"Thank you for guiding me. I can continue on my own from here."
"Are you sure? That mark might be powerful, but you're still just a kid."
"I'm sure, so go in peace."
Mr. Bonya looks at me with some concern before starting to step away, turning around, and walking in the direction we came from. I watch him leave until he disappears among the tall trees that cover the path back, and when I can no longer see him, I turn toward the fog and sigh.
"Here we go," I think to myself.
I take a step into the shadowy, dry territory of the fog, and the change in the environment is so abrupt that it overwhelms me for a second.
What was that?
I look back, and the view is blurry from this side, as if a giant dome separates both worlds. I follow the naturally marked path on the ground, and the deeper I go into the forest, the more I feel a pressure in my head that makes me dizzy.
