It was him.
I had been stunned by the ancient castle the vampire had brought me to for a moment, thinking I was probably the first human to have stepped inside it for millennia. Then I saw him, and everything else faded from my sight.
That probably sounded incredibly cheesy but there was no other way I could've described that moment. And when his brown eyes met mine, everything else genuinely felt like they ceased to exist.
With each step we took towards each other, it felt like my lungs were finally working again but the tears only continued. They got worse when I finally had him in my shaking arms, holding him for dear life. I thought that if I let go he would've vanished yet again.
At the back of my mind, logic was screaming at me that none of this was making a lick of sense.
