It was already eleven o'clock in the evening when Kendall finally stepped out of the operating room.
Everyone in the operating room looked at her with admiration, clearly in awe of her skill and composure under pressure.
The relatives of the injured, who had been waiting anxiously outside the operating room, wiped away their tears and repeatedly thanked Kendall for saving their loved ones.
"It's just a small favor," Kendall responded humbly as she pulled out her phone, noticing a missed call from Michael.
Without hesitation, she dialed back, and the call was quickly connected.
"I'm sorry, I ran into something urgent and couldn't—" Kendall began to explain softly, but Michael cut her off gently from the other end of the line.
"It's okay. Saving lives is important. I saw the news," he said, his voice warm and understanding.
