Chapter 385 - Chapter 385: How Peculiar

"Come to think of it, isn't G&K always looking for members for the AR Team? Why didn't you bring that AR15 along?"

After handing the piece of paper with the phone number to the Hunter, Executioner visibly relaxed.

"Huh? What do you mean? Weren't you thinking of returning to Sangvis earlier? Why suddenly start thinking about Griffin?"

If UMP40 or UMP45 had asked this question, he would have found it understandable, considering they had both served in Griffin for a while.

But now it was Executioner saying this? Did he hear it right?

"Uh, no, isn't your relationship with G&K still good? Help out to strengthen the relationship with Griffin..."

"What does that have to do with anything? Where did you get the idea that my relationship with Griffin is good? I only know one commander from there and one agent of Griffin. I don't know anyone else."

Helping to destroy the signal tower was just because Gentiane helped pull the circuit breaker earlier, with no relation to other Griffin commanders or even Griffin headquarters.

As for AR15 they just saw... He remembered that she should have been intact, right? It seemed she even outsmarted that guy, directly turning the tables and taking out Hunter.

She's quite impressive, why would he worry about her safety?

Upon hearing Renault's words, Executioner could only stare at him in astonishment.

"Ah, this..."

She had thought Renault had some sort of cooperative relationship with Griffin. Who would've thought he only knew one or two people from there.

"So, do we have any commissions later?"

After a moment of silence, Executioner turned her head to glance at the drowsy G11 and UMP40. She felt like her future was heading in some unknown direction...

"Commissions? Aren't we on one now? After dropping off these guys in the city, we have to deliver the rest of the goods to Wilhelm Port north of Bremen." Pointing to the large crates in the cargo hold, Renault replied.

Although the main goal of the mission was to rescue Old man Voula, the goods still had to be delivered. However, the flight access permit over there was a bit tricky, and he didn't know if Mrs. Graven could handle it. If not, he'd have to take a detour over the sea.

"Deliver... goods? That's it?" Upon hearing Renault's words, Executioner suddenly felt a lump in her throat.

She had thought even if things weren't going well with Renault, he would still take on some combat-related missions like Griffin.

But your mission is just simply delivering goods?

"What else? Well, it seems you've never dealt with procurement-related matters when you were at Sangvis. Do you know where the materials used to make droids in Sangvis factories come from?"

The assets left by the shareholders of Sangvis Ferri Manufacturing were still substantial enough, even after all this time.

But it was coming to an end soon. Although there was already a highly automated production chain established between the various Sangvis factories, some materials for making droids still needed to be purchased.

Even if the mainframe of Sangvis could recycle those damaged Sangvis units and melt them down for reuse, there would still be losses.

Like they are now, just sitting around and eating away at resources.

From the time Sangvis factories had problems until now, several months had passed, and these guys were still able to launch attacks against Griffin, it was all because of the large asset left behind.

Executioner was stunned by Renault's words, then sighed somewhat resentfully.

She hadn't thought about this before; all logistical matters had always been Agent's responsibility.

The conversation between the two didn't disturb Old man Voula and his two doll companion who were also sitting in the cabin. They had already closed their eyes to rest; being trapped in that military fortress by Sangvis was not a pleasant experience.

Old man Voula was physically and mentally exhausted, while the two dolls hadn't been recharged since the power outage. Now, they were connected to the aircraft's power source while recharging while in sleep mode.

Since it was late at night, SPAS-12 slowed down a bit. By the time they returned to the city, it was already the wee hours of the morning, with just an hour or two until dawn.

Viktor and Andre didn't show up; not everyone was a night owl, so Renault naturally didn't mean to drag them out of their homes. After sending Old man Voula and his dolls back to their company's location, Renault went straight to a hotel to stay.

He planned to call Mrs. Graven in the morning to see if there was any way to get the necessary documents. If they could fly straight there, it would undoubtedly save a lot of time.

Although increasing altitude could also successfully get them there, there was a possibility of encountering collapse particle clouds in high altitude.

While they wouldn't have any problems inside the cabin, the external body of the aircraft might bring down collapsing particles, making it impossible to land at the destination, and there was a possibility of equipment contamination during unloading.

"It's my first time staying in this kind of hotel." PPatting the not-so-soft bed, Executioner said with a strange expression.

"Well, you'll get used to it, after all, this is normal."

After removing her engraved weapon and equipment, SPAS-12 tested the strength of the bed and then lay down.

"Probably, but what was Scarecrow doing before? Are there no combat missions here?"

"Ah? Scarecrow? She's been helping the commander build a spaceship all along. As for combat missions, didn't the commander bring you back from one? But even without missions, we've been attacked several times while staying at home."

Recalling the few battles they had been through, SPAS-12 spoke.

"Spaceship? What about that time... What happened with the attack at home?" Executioner's face darkened at the thought of almost being squashed into a pancake by mechs due to her momentary lapse.

"Attack, well, we don't know where those guys came from. Mercenaries, military-like guys, and security contractors, we've fought them all. Armed helicopters, armored vehicles, tanks, you name it."

"Uh, That's quite an experience."

"Well, they weren't major incidents, get some rest. It'll be dawn soon, and I wonder if the breakfast places around here are still open." SPAS-12 said, closing her eyes. "Ah, could you turn off the light, please?"

"Oh."

After Executioner turned off the light, she lay down as well. Looking around the not-so-spacious room, she felt a strange sensation in her heart.

No missions, no base protocols, no connection to various chaotic Sangvis units...

This feeling... how strange...
