Chapter 325 - Chapter 325: Nowhere to Escape

"Why do I have to clean up this mess with you when I didn't even participate in it?"

AK47 frowned, lying on the ground and using a small shovel to painstakingly scrape the stubborn fungus mats off the ground and throw them into the cultivation tank.

"Ahem! Don't say that. We're a team, after all. We should share both blessings and hardships," A-91 interjected with a smirk, holding a large shovel and scraping the large pieces of fungus mats off the ground.

"Yeah, we should share blessings. So, can I borrow some of your booze?" AK47 glanced resentfully at the wine flask hanging from A-91's waist.

Why were she and Simonov prohibited from drinking, yet this guy could drink endlessly?

It was biased! It was discrimination! It wasn't fair!

"Cough, cough, this is essential. The commander specially approved it!"

Seeing AK47's longing gaze, A-91 hurriedly protected her wine flask, lest she come over and snatch it.

Hearing this, AK47 rolled her eyes in silence, thinking maybe she should create a persona for herself where she'd go crazy without alcohol. That way, she could drink every day like A-91.

As the two tactical dolls struggled to clean up the fungus mats, Simonov, sitting in the driver's seat, wore a troubled expression.

She had thought she could seize this opportunity to escape her predicament, only to find herself working overtime for free.

"Commander, where are we going this time? Didn't we just visit Gentiane recently?" Simonov asked curiously, observing the speedometer, which had already hit its limit.

"We're going to pick up a poor soul. They're running out without even eating. When we bring that person back, they'll learn what it means to work 996," Renault replied.

Compared to the tactical dolls at his base, Scarecrow's neural cloud was evidently more mature. Before Sangvis's mainframe took over, Scarecrow had handled numerous external tasks. Dealing with certain normal matters would definitely be easier for Scarecrow than for those childish tactical dolls here.

Moreover, helping manage the considerable number of Rippers was convenient. Maria was too playful normally and always hanging out with G11.

Dragging her out to work felt somewhat unbearable for Renault.

"996? What's that?"

"Starting work at 9 a.m., finishing at 9 p.m., and working six days a week."

Hearing Renault's explanation, Simonov shuddered but quickly realized, "That sounds alright. At least it's much better than the treatment of the droids. Unless they're broken, they won't stop working."

Listening to Simonov, Renault rolled his eyes. He had forgotten how exhausted those droids were, working tirelessly under the 007 work system.

For them, working 24/7 was just normal.

Compared to that, 996 actually seemed like a blessing for tactical dolls.

"Alright? Will you follow that from now on?" Renault glanced at Simonov, his eyes flashing with mischief.

"No, no, absolutely not! I'm perfectly satisfied with my current work hours!"

Are you kidding? What other company could compare to Renault's?

She can decide her daily work hours, and apart from fixed meal times, the rest of her time was completely flexible. There was no more whimsical boss than Renault!

If it switched to fixed working hours every day, she would absolutely refuse!

"Then focus a bit more, alright?"

"Oh, okay!"

The location of Renault's factory was at least a thousand kilometers away from Gentiane's S09 district, where Scarecrow was in charge. Even with this new military helicopter, it would take over an hour to get there.

During Renault's call with Scarecrow, he had already heard the sound of grenades exploding. Clearly, either Gentiane or another Griffin commander's tactical dolls were closing in on Scarecrow.

Although Scarecrow had said it would take two hours for Griffin to break through his defenses, who knew if that was true? Variables on the battlefield, especially in small-scale battles, were countless.

Just a puddle underfoot could cost someone their life.

As for why Renault didn't directly call Gentiane to spare Scarecrow? He wasn't part of the high echelons of Griffin.

At most, he only knew Helian and had collaborated with Griffin once or twice. His influence among Griffin's top brass wasn't that strong. If Gentiane didn't help, that would be fine, but if she did, it might harm her.

Losing a job was one thing, but being taken away by the Statesec or the military for some reason would be a bigger problem.

...

"Commander! It's another fake this time!" Seeing her bullets pass through the Scarecrow's body without causing any harm, Papasha immediately shouted into the communicator.

"Tsk! Are all of Sangvis's elite tactical dolls this troublesome?"

Hearing Papasha's voice, Gentiane in the command room couldn't help but frown.

This was already the fourth Sangvis stronghold they had breached. Although the SF units put up fierce resistance during the attacks, each time they broke through, it turned out they had only hit the illusion of that Scarecrow.

The first time caught them off guard, but it evidently didn't affect their operational capability.

The anti-gravity technology and communication interference technology of the enemy were really annoying!

They couldn't find the enemy's whereabouts with drones, nor could they track their movements by footprints. And the realistic illusions...

If Gentiane hadn't arranged for doll reconnaissance of the terrain in advance, they might have been at a loss now.

"Continue. That guy can't run far. All the exits in this area are under our surveillance. She can't escape."

Although they encountered quite a few Sangvis units, they were clearly not endless. The blockades in the other two districts hadn't been breached, and these Sangvis units were just small groups sneaking in.

Their numbers were limited!

Moreover, soon, tactical dolls from nearby districts would also be dispatched to assist in the capture. The location of that Sangvis unit was approaching the border of her district.

This doll's luck wasn't very good. If she continued to stay in the S09 district, she would probably have to put in some effort. But this doll just happened to run to the vicinity of other districts...

Oh well, as long as they caught her, it was fine. It was just a little disappointing not to be able to complete the mission alone.

Looking at the map in the command room, Gentiane sighed helplessly.
